Restart, Spider-Man! [19]

The moment Xia Luo saw the figure before him, he let out a slow breath.

His already tense nerves died down—again.

Everyone who has ever been friends with Spider-Man knows that a Spider-Man bonded with Venom is ridiculously powerful.

"Hey, you like buying discounted suits?" Xia Luo ventured cautiously.

Venom Parker grinned wickedly, his muscles twitching. "I prefer breaking bones."

Xia Luo's smile was awkward. "Okay, then how about a promotion and a raise?" He still wasn't giving up.

"Too much talk... I'm hungry."

Boom!

Suddenly, Venom Parker's entire symbiote suit began to writhe, exploding into a massive web of black liquid that surrounded Xia Luo in an instant.

Thwip, thwip, thwip!

Xia Luo swiped the shield, slicing a gap in the web as he leaped out of the trap, but Venom Parker's arm had already morphed into a massive ten-meter-long blade, sweeping towards him.

Boom!

With a thunderous crash, debris scattered everywhere as the powerful force, combined with the sharp blade, split a giant boulder clean in half. The attack's wide range left Xia Luo with no room to dodge.

Barely able to raise his shield in time, Xia Luo was slammed into the rocky debris by the overwhelming force.

Inside the rubble, Xia Luo's entire body groaned under the unbearable strain, the pain searing through him, and the shield in his hand had already been knocked away by the impact.

Neither the shield nor his nanotech suit could withstand Venom Parker's monstrous strength.

As the terrifying shadow loomed over him, Xia Luo could only manage a faint smile as the hungry monster set its eyes on him.

"How about we team up to fight Thanos, Parker?"

"I'm going to eat you."

"Wait, seriously? You're really going to—?"

[Remaining revivals: 11. Restart?]

On the cosmic web, Xia Luo sat up abruptly, rubbing his head.

"That guy is definitely not the Bully Maguire. He's just got a serious love for food."

Recalling the last scene before his death, Xia Luo couldn't help but swallow nervously.

By his rough estimate, that guy's strength was easily over a hundred tons, and that wasn't even at full power.

There was no way Xia Luo could beat him.

Heck, even if all the contestants in this revival tournament teamed up, they still wouldn't win.

It was no joke—Venom Parker was truly ruthless.

Feeling the pressure mount, Xia Luo considered his next move before tapping to restart again.

[You have entered the revival tournament!]

Once again, Xia Luo found himself in the scorching desert, having to repeat the same tired conversation between Natasha and Steve.

"Natasha."

"Steve."

As soon as the task began, Xia Luo threw them both into the air to avoid the explosion, and the events repeated themselves like before.

"Find the bunker."

Boom!

The Jeep sped off as Lizard Parker and Norman arrived, their inevitable infighting starting again.

Seeing this, Xia Luo slipped away, heading in the opposite direction from Steve.

This valley was shaped like a circle, so heading in the opposite direction would also allow him to meet up with Steve and Natasha later.

He needed to figure out if Venom Spider was already tailing him.

He didn't set up any defenses this time, focusing purely on speed. If something went wrong along the way, it would prove his theory.

Before long, he spotted the distant shadow of the Jeep.

Looks like Venom Spider wasn't after him just yet.

Xia Luo quickened his pace toward the Jeep, taking a quick look around and spotting the narrow entrance to an abandoned bunker hidden among the rocks. With some quick adjustments, it would be the perfect place to hide.

Inside the Jeep, however, Steve and Natasha seemed to be piled on top of each other... doing something.

Xia Luo: "?????"

No way, right? Here of all places?

Cap was old—he couldn't be pushing himself too hard, could he?

Shaking his head at how society was going downhill, Xia Luo approached, only to realize something was wrong.

Where were their heads?

A sinking feeling hit his stomach, and Xia Luo sighed, throwing up his hands.

"Alright, guess it's my turn next."

In the next second, the black symbiote liquid slithered into view, forming a demonic face behind Xia Luo, slowly engulfing him.

On his fourth attempt at the revival tournament, Xia Luo followed the same routine as before.

Venom Spider had targeted Steve and Natasha first. It seemed like one of them would have to be sacrificed.

At the back of the Jeep, Xia Luo wasted no time.

He quickly drew a rough map of the valley's outskirts. "You two head in opposite directions. The bunker should be somewhere around here."

"How do you know where the bunker is?" Old Steve asked, surprised.

"Don't ask. Just chalk it up to superpowers."

Xia Luo found two barrels of gasoline in the back of the Jeep. "Take these with you. They'll be useful when you get to the bunker."

Having pinpointed the bunker's location this time, Xia Luo didn't let them use the Jeep to travel.

Once everything was set up, he grabbed the shield and ran off, leading Lizard Parker away.

"Hey, handsome lizard! Come and catch this crispy little bug~"

"I'll tear you apart!"

The plan went smoothly. With Norman joining the fray, the two villains soon turned on each other, allowing Xia Luo to slip away in Steve's direction.

If he were Venom Spider, he'd obviously go after the pretty girl first before the old guy—anyone could figure that out.

Sure enough, with his speed, Xia Luo quickly caught up to Old Steve.

Huff, puff... huff...

"You're already here? Ah, youth is such a blessing," Old Steve panted, hands on his knees.

Xia Luo took the gasoline barrel from him. "Hey, Old Soldier, want to play bumper cars?"

"What?"

With a bewildered look, Old Steve watched as Xia Luo flipped the shield upside down and motioned for him to sit on it.

Realizing what Xia Luo intended, Steve couldn't help but laugh.

"Childish, but... I'm game."

With no hesitation, he sat comfortably on the shield as Xia Luo fired webs, pulling the shield along the sand.

Whoosh!

The sand shifted beneath them, and as they sped across the desert, Steve's excitement grew.

"Faster! Charge!"

"Shut up, you old man."

"Is that how you talk to your elders?"

Ten minutes later, Xia Luo arrived at the bunker.

"This is the place."

"Natasha hasn't arrived yet."

"She might not make it."

"What do you mean?"

"I'll explain inside."

Urged on by Xia Luo, Old Steve climbed into the bunker's narrow entrance.

Xia Luo followed closely behind, using nearby debris to seal off the entrance.

The wind whipped across the desert, soon covering any traces of the entrance.

In the darkness, the sound of the storm outside slowly faded, and the musty smell of decay filled the air.

Xia Luo tapped his wrist device, causing the spider emblem on his nanotech suit to glow, illuminating the area.

The dim light revealed rotting wooden beams and thick layers of spiderwebs all around them.

Sand piled up to their knees, and while parts of the tunnel had collapsed, there was still enough space for them to move through.

"Now you can tell me why we didn't wait for Natasha," Old Steve said, his expression serious.

Brushing sand off himself, Xia Luo casually replied, "She's already been targeted."

"And you let her go? You deliberately sent her to her death?" Steve's fists clenched in anger, his eyes blazing with fury.

"Don't look at me like that."

Xia Luo didn't care about Steve's anger, remaining calm as he explained, "She's already dead. If we win this revival tournament, she'll get a revival token and return to your world. Does that sound cruel to you?"

Steve quickly calmed down at Xia Luo's words.

"You're right. So, when do I die?"

"Uh... soon, just wait your turn."

"No problem."
