Restart, Spider-Man! [24]

Inside the wooden shack, Natasha followed Xia Luo's instructions, slowly breaking down Lizard Parker's emotional defenses.

Meanwhile, Xia Luo stood guard outside, quietly observing Steve, who was moving about the camp.

Thanks to Lizard Parker's presence, Steve wandered through the camp without anyone questioning the unfamiliar face. Norman and the others had only used brute force to control the camp, not bothering with the finer details, and they had no idea Steve and Natasha were present. This gave Xia Luo the perfect opportunity.

Not long after, Steve returned to Xia Luo's side.

"Everything is set," Old Steve whispered.

Xia Luo glanced at the green figure flying out of the cave. "That guy is cunning and suspicious. Be careful not to let him spot you."

"I understand."

Steve glanced back at Natasha, who was with Lizard Parker. "She might have to sacrifice herself," he hinted.

"She won't. Lizard Parker is a romantic at heart," Xia Luo confidently replied.

Steve shrugged. "Alright, maybe I was overthinking it."

"Do you know why Black Widow could calm the Hulk?" Xia Luo suddenly asked.

Steve blinked. "Romance?" he guessed uncertainly.

Xia Luo glanced at Lizard Parker, who was already falling for Natasha's charms, and nodded seriously. "Seems like that's the reason. Sending her to deal with the Lizard is practically unfair."

"But it's cruel for the Lizard," Steve mused.

"If you saw what they did to Tony, then you'd understand what cruelty really is," Xia Luo muttered darkly.

"What do you mean?"

"You'll see."

They chatted a bit more, then saw Lizard Parker emerge from the shack, holding Natasha's hand.

"Don't worry, I'll get you out of here," Lizard Parker said gently to Natasha.

He then turned to Steve, "Get the car ready. I'm going out for a while."

Before Steve could move, there was a loud whoosh above them. Norman, perched on his glider, cackled wildly.

"Gahaha, the task isn't over yet. Where are you headed?"

Lizard Parker shot him a glance. "Hmph, we've already won. I'm going to take care of my own business now."

Norman glanced at the frightened Natasha and laughed. "I see what's happening. She's a prisoner, and you want to get her out of this hellhole before we leave. You're such a sweet boy!"

"Mind your own business," Lizard Parker snapped, glaring at Norman as he pulled Natasha away.

Xia Luo and Steve quickly followed them.

Norman watched them leave but made no move to stop them.

"Idiot. Sooner or later, he'll die because of a woman," Norman sneered before turning back to the cave.

Meanwhile, Xia Luo personally drove, taking Lizard Parker and Natasha out of the camp.

The SUV roared through the night, speeding across the desert.

"Sir, it'll take about ten hours to reach the nearest city," Steve said from the passenger seat.

"Ten hours?" Lizard Parker exhaled in relief. "Good, we'll make it in time."

Just as he was about to reassure Natasha, he noticed something in the back of the vehicle — explosives and a metal shield.

"Wait... that's his shield!"

Instantly, Lizard Parker's eyes widened in shock, and a chill ran down his spine.

"You're all traitors!"

Twenty minutes later, a loud explosion echoed from the outskirts of the valley.

"What happened?" Norman flew out of the cave to investigate, asking one of the Ten Rings members for a report.

"There was an explosion outside. We spotted someone in a red-and-blue suit."

"Little Xia Luo!" Norman laughed maniacally. "He's finally shown up. Where is he?"

"The bunker."

Norman grinned wickedly. "So, that's where they've been hiding. Alright, I'll play along."

With that, he mounted his glider and flew off in the direction the Ten Rings member had pointed.

Once Norman was gone, the Ten Rings member looked up, revealing Natasha in disguise.

Ten minutes later, Xia Luo and Steve emerged from the bunker and returned to the camp.

"All done," Xia Luo said, finding Natasha.

Natasha looked surprised. "That fast?"

Xia Luo shrugged. "Of course."

Nearby, Steve, holding his well-worn shield, said, "Once we destroyed his glider, he didn't stand a chance against the two of us."

Natasha smiled. "Just like the Spider-Kid said, Green Goblin is cunning but arrogant. He knew it was a trap but still went alone."

Xia Luo glanced towards the cave. "Norman has a lot of confidence in himself. He believes that even if we kill him, we still won't win the resurrection match. He's waiting to strike us down when we think we've won."

Hearing this, Steve frowned. "Why is he so sure he'll win?"

Natasha looked thoughtful. "I've got a bad feeling about this."

Xia Luo grinned. "No worries, we've already taken care of two opponents. Only the most dangerous one is left in the cave."

"Yes, I've been preparing for that," Natasha said, pointing to a pile of electronics. "The sonic device is simple to build. I just need to take apart these machines, and I can have it ready in about an hour. But are you sure it'll work?"

"That's why you're a top-tier spy!" Xia Luo praised. "Let's get to work!"

One hour later.

Natasha had finished constructing the sonic device, while Xia Luo and Steve armed themselves with flamethrowers from the Ten Rings' arsenal.

Behind them, a group of confused armed guards watched their every move, unsure of what they were doing.

"Have you noticed? The big lizard and Green Goblin haven't come back."

"Yeah, I've got a bad feeling about these three."

"They're heading into the cave. That monster is going to eat them."

"Let's see what they're up to..."

Under the watchful eyes of the guards, the trio made their way into the cave.

The cave was dimly lit, and as they ventured deeper, the air grew colder and more eerie. The smell of blood lingered, making Natasha feel uneasy.

Without hesitation, she activated the sonic device.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Suddenly, a high-frequency sound wave of 20kHz echoed through the cave, and a piercing screech rang out from above them.

"Screeeeech!"

"Up there!"

The moment the creature shrieked, Xia Luo and Steve aimed their flamethrowers at the ceiling, unleashing blue flames.

Boom!

The cave lit up as the intense flames licked at the dark webs overhead. Under the combined assault of fire and sonic waves, Venom Parker's screeches grew even more agonized.

Compared to the temperature of burning gasoline, the high-temperature flames from the flamethrowers had a greater impact on Venom, but it wasn't enough to take down the terrifying creature.

Last time, Xia Luo had noticed that while Venom Parker had high resistance to fire, he was extremely vulnerable to sonic waves.

With a more sophisticated sonic device, Venom Parker's strength had been severely weakened. Xia Luo could even make out the faint figure of Peter Parker struggling within the symbiote's writhing mass.

Peter Parker!
