Side story 5: Why won't he get jealous?

Vira and Saka became a lot closer. Vira made it a point to drive Saka to his college on days he didn't have to go to Ekatweep.

Saka still felt insecure. Sometimes he saw Akat post pictures of him and Vira having lunch or having ice cream. Vira, when in Ekatweep, seldom responded to Saka's messages.

"You have time to feed each other ice cream but no time to read my messages?" He muttered to himself as he checked Vira's status.

He cursed Laika and himself for pushing Vira to sign in to social media platforms because this only made Saka more possessive and insecure.

"Tsk Tsk," Tobi responded, "Trust Vira a bit. He said he was seriously considering your proposal. Why would he flirt with others without declining your offer first?"

Tobi was logical, but somehow Saka didn't seem convinced.

Tobi gave him an idea. "Why don't you post photos with Nav, and write flirty messages like Akat does? See if that brings any reaction?"

Saka pondered on that idea. Seemed a good one.

Nav was a bit forward, and active on social media, being almost in the same age group.

He happily accepted Saka's invite.

Sometimes he posted his messages with Saka online, tagging Saka to it. "I have the cutest Jun, now teaching seems so fun! #Vayudiaries"

Saka blushed when he saw such posts, but it irritated him that Vira just liked them or commented, "I agree."

Did Vira never get jealous?

Saka sometimes posted "Bites of goodness with bytes of info" with a photo of his laptop and the food he had with Nav. But that just got a "haha, good one!" from Vira, which frustrated Saka.

He cornered Tobi and showed him his posts. "Vira doesn't get jealous. Not even a bit. Does this guy have any feelings for me?"

Tobi laughed. "It could also be because he is confident in your love. You go about screaming that he is yours every single day. Where is there any scope to doubt you?"

Yeah... That made sense too.

Kenta saw Vira looking gloomily at his mobile. "What's up?" he asked.

He showed Kenta. "See this guy?"

"Woah! He looks cute! I love the red hair."

Vira grunted. "Stop making eyes at him. He's giving me a hard time as it is."

Kenta perked up. "Is that your boyfriend?"

Vira looked glum. "I'm not dating him yet."

Kenta giggled. "You have a crush on him."

Vira sighed. "He has 100 people following him... that's like the entire same-age crowd at Mann."

Kenta said, "oooh! A popular kid!"

Vira grunted, "And now his mentor is following him too... the bugger openly flirts with my guy."

"Why don't you post something you do with him? Just to show the mentor his place?"

Vira looked like his soul had moved out of his body. "Because I haven't confessed yet. How can I claim him to be mine?"

Kenta was now just confused. "So, let me get this straight. You feel possessive but you don't want to confess?"

Vira sighed. "I can't confess until he graduates because he's my student."

Kenta empathized with him. Who knew Vira could be so cute? Akat wasn't joking when he whispered that Vira was in love.

Kenta cornered Akat. "I can't bear to see him sigh this much."

Akat laughed. "I envy Saka. I post so many pictures with Vira. Look at my boyfriend? No reaction. He doesn't care. I could literally date anyone and I'd still get no response.

Kenta was aware of Akat's situation.

Two years back, Akat had asked Kenta to pretend to flirt with him at a cafe in Mainland. But Prapit didn't even bat an eyelid. In fact, he just smiled, like he was giving them his blessings. That was when Akat had decided he had had enough. He completely broke ties with Prapit.

Initially, he had been heartbroken, but now he had come to accept the fact that they could never be together.

The last two years had been tough, but now, Akat looked like he was trying his best to put his past behind him and move forward. But his best wasn't really good enough. To him Prapit would always be his boyfriend.

Kenta and Vira both supported him. They were willing to listen to him and cheer him up.

Akat had blocked Prapit, but he knew he was still being tracked. Prapit was a worrywart. He would track Akat's movements to make sure nothing happened to him.

Though temporarily, that might not work. When Akat broke his mobile and SIM, Prapit was forced to go blind, atleast for sometime. That gave him some pleasure.

"Since I'm like your child, let me show you what a rebellious child I can be." He thought to himself.

But what he didn't realise was, Prapit was beyond such child's play. When he set his mind and heart to it, he could do anything. And he would.
