Chapter 37: Photos

I immediately ran to open the door, but the rope was tied too tightly, and in my haste, I couldn't untie it. So, I simply cut it with a small knife and stepped into the hallway, finely sensing that the cries for help seemed to come from a half-open room ahead.

I hurried over and didn't just barge in; instead, I knocked on the door, but no one responded. Peering through the gap in the door, it seemed to be a study with no one inside. The cries for help were coming from outside the window.

I hesitated for a moment; after all, barging into someone else's home is impolite. But the cries for help were so desperate, and they carried a tone of utter doom. If I didn't act now, a life might be lost. Considering my superpower, I often thought that since heaven had endowed me with this ability, it must be meant for me to save something. So, in comparison to being impolite, saving a life was obviously more important.
