Volume Three, Chapter Fourteen: Stepmother or Younger Mother

"What are you doing, scaring people like that?" I glared at Lin Zefeng, noticing he looked quite energetic, as if he hadn't slept at all.

"Why don't you sleep properly and instead run out to the yard?" he asked, his expression resembling that of a suspicious husband towards a disloyal wife.

"Can't I just look at the moon? Mind your own business!" I continued to slide the door, but he blocked me.

"What were you talking to my dad about for so long?" he asked bluntly.

I was taken aback, suspecting that he had noticed me since I stepped out to admire the moon. Although his ears surely weren't long enough, at least shorter than a rabbit's, he couldn't have heard what I discussed with his father, but he must have heard our parting words at the doorstep.

Suddenly, I had a rather wicked thought, "You don't need to worry about this, but your dad is a very charming man, sophisticated and full of charisma, much better than you."
