Shen Yan had spent the better part of the day in the research lab without emerging, discussing research topics with a group of elderly professors.
It was not until late at night that the assistants of several elderly professors came in multiple times to remind them that they needed to wrap up. Another project was discussed with Shen Yan for about ten minutes before she was allowed to leave.
In the deep, dark night, Shen Yan drove away from the research institute alone.
All the elderly professors had been sent home by their assistants, leaving Professor Lin and Vice Dean Shao to tidy up behind.
As they stepped out, Professor Lin pressed a hand against his lower back, "I'm truly getting old, not like the young people anymore."
"Everyone ages, but your health seems to be declining. You need to rest. Don't wait until you're completely worn out to regret it," Vice Dean Shao spoke bluntly.
Professor Lin, used to such remarks, replied, "I'll keep an eye on it."
