Pei Yansi's kiss was gentle.
It carried a hint of coolness and seemed a bit warm too. Shen Heyu couldn't quite describe the feeling, but she always felt a tingling at the back of her neck and couldn't help but shiver.
Pei Yansi felt her tremble, his thin lips curved into a shallow smile, and his gaze deepened as he moved closer to Shen Heyu and gently embraced her, "Heyu, Happy New Year."
His voice was so gentle that Shen Heyu momentarily let her guard down, feeling her heart beat erratically as if a deer were running amok.
She had felt this way many years ago. She hadn't expected that today it would all come flooding back. She was momentarily at a loss, it had been so long that, at this moment, she didn't know how to respond.
Pei Yansi seemed to notice her panic; he felt strange yet seemed to understand. Without a word, he gently bent down and lifted her face, placing a kiss on her lips.
"I will win you back," he said earnestly, as if making a promise and reminding himself.
