Alex was quietly looking around James's house. The house was pretty big, and every room had the same white walls and marble floor, so it was pretty easy to get lost there.
Finally, after searching for a while, Alex found the kitchen, but he heard a scream from the room Adam was in, so he rushed there.
Alex rubbed his eyes in disbelief as he saw a naked James barking like a dog with a knife inserted in his ass.
"WTF? I thought chopping off his thing was the worst thing you were gonna do, but..." Alex said, getting chills down his spine.
"Nah, we're just getting started," Adam said, moving the knife.
James screamed as Adam began to move the knife around; more blood came gushing out, soaking Adam's hand.
"WTF? Bad dog," Adam said, kicking the knife further. James bit his lip in pain, tears rolling down his face.
"I kinda feel bad for him," Alex said, looking at James with sympathy.
"Well, this guy is a total piece of shit. Don't forget that," Adam said, oiling the second knife and sliding it into the little space left in James's ass.
"Wow, James, your asshole is big," Adam said, gawking in shock.
"Adam, you know you're kinda acting freaky here," Alex said, looking away.
"Fuck you, James, I was having fun, and you had to make it weird. Let's go we're leaving," Adam said, shaking his hand to remove the blood.
"You're gonna leave him like that?" Alex said, pointing at James.
"Yup. He'll probably die from blood loss," Adam said, patting Alex's arm.
"Come on, let's go," Adam said, walking out of the front door. Alex kept looking at James for a while before finally exiting the house, too.
*Fuck, why can't I shake this off? I've killed many people in the past, I've seen lots of dead bodies that didn't faze me. So why can't I get this outta my brain?* Alex thought, trying his best not to dwell on it.
As both of them came out and walked toward the main gate, they saw two guards still standing.
Adam laughed before making his way over to them. "Hello, my friends. You might want to go inside and check on your boss, he's in pretty bad shape."
Both guards were confused and looked at each other, trying to see if the other recognized him, but both were clueless.
"Who are you?" both of them asked in together.
"I'm just a friend of his. You should really go look at him now." The guards believed Adam, simply because of how confident he was.
Both rushed inside, passing by Alex, but they didn't pay him much attention.
"Look at these guys. What are they even getting paid for? Geez, his security was crap, and now he's got knives in his ass," Adam said, joining Alex.
"Why do you look like you just saw a ghost? Go grab the bike you know I can't get it with just one hand," Adam said, slapping Alex's back to wake him up.
Alex quietly went outside, his mind still occupied by what had recently happened. After walking for a bit, he finally saw the bike and started it.
But as he was about to turn it towards the house to get Adam, Adam came running out. "Turn the bike the other way we have to get away quickly!" Adam shouted, running toward the bike.
"Wait, what happened?" Alex asked, but before Adam replied, he got his answer as he saw two guards running at them.
Alex started driving at full speed while Adam looked back and screamed, "Suck your master's dick, losers! My bad I forgot you can't because I cut it off!"
One guard stood there in anger and told the other to bring a gun. Adam realized that from their gestures.
"Drive faster; one of the guards went inside to get a gun," Adam said, slapping Alex's shoulder.
"I'm driving at top speed," Alex replied, shrugging his shoulder off. "Also, stop slapping my shoulder let me focus on the road," he said, annoyed.
Finally, Adam saw the guard running out of the main exit with a gun, but before he could even aim, Alex took a turn.
Adam sighed in relief, finally turning his gaze forward. "That was close," he said loudly, hoping Alex would respond.
"When is it not close? For some reason, we always get into stupid messes, and most of the time it's because of you. Your luck is just that bad," Alex replied, keeping his eyes glued to the road.
Adam smiled as Alex responded. *Thank God he isn't traumatized,* Adam thought, his mind finally calm again. He quietly enjoyed the view as Alex drove through the streets.
The journey back home wasn't any different; it was still early, so there was little traffic, and they reached home without much trouble.
"Finally, back home," Adam exclaimed, getting off.
"So it's your home now?" Alex teased, but he was quietly pleased to hear Adam refer to it as his home.
Both of them finally went inside, and to their surprise, they saw Ava asleep on the couch in the living room.
"Big sis, why are you sleeping on the couch? Also, didn't you have to go to work today?" Alex asked, running to her side and helping her up.
"I was waiting for you last night, but you didn't come, so I just slept here. I was imagining you two covered in wounds, so I was so worried that I didn't go to work," Ava said, still looking tired her eyes were red, suggesting she didn't get much sleep.
"Where were you two by the way?" Ava asked, looking at them both.
"Oh we were just at some parties," Adam replied first, but Ava glared at him.
"Don't lie to me. Your hand is covered in blood I can tell you were in a fight," Ava said, seeing right through Adam's lie.
Before Adam could answer, Alex replied, "We went to the Bloodcircle Arena. And before you get mad, don't worry nothing happened. Adam had a task he completed it and we came back."
Ava looked at Alex, then at Adam. Adam just nodded in agreement, trying to make Ava believe their story.
"I know you two are probably hiding something, but you came home in one piece and that's what matters," Ava said, hugging Alex and signaling Adam to join them.
Alex felt comforted, all his worries going away, but Adam began to cry. He started to remember how Clare used to comfort him after a rough day at school.
Noticing that Adam was crying, Ava hugged him tighter, giving him all the time he needed to sort himself out.
All of them pulled away, Adam wiped his tears, and smiled like nothing had happened.
"Okay, you two go sit at the table. I'll bring breakfast," Ava said, heading to the kitchen.
Adam and Alex comfortably sat at the table. Finally in a safe space, they started to feel the exhaustion from all they had done that night and morning.
But as Adam's eyes began to close, he heard a pop-up noise he knew exactly what it was. He slapped his face before opening his eyes.
*This system doesn't like seeing me comfortable,* Adam thought, finally looking at the message.
Killing System
Task 4: Kill a lion within 3 weeks.
Reward: A new skill.
Penalty: Lose one skill.
As Adam read it, he made a weird face, and Alex asked, "Hey, did something happen? Don't tell me you already got a new task. Is it difficult?"
"No, the task is stupid. I have to kill a lion. How the hell do I find a lion in this city?" Adam said, reading it again to make sure he hadn't misread.
"Well, I guess we have to kill the one in the zoo," Alex replied, stretching his arms. "Wait, we have three weeks, right? That's a lot of time. We'll do it later. I'm not doing anything for at least a week."
"I guess you're right. I really don't like killing animals, but I guess I have to," Adam said, looking sad. Alex rubbed his back to comfort him.
Finally, Ava finished cooking. "I'm done! I'm bringing your food get ready, boys," she said, serving them breakfast.
"Let's just not think about it for now," Alex said, getting ready to eat.
Adam also joined in. "you are right let's just concentrate on the food."
