Jessica's POV
Chase's limp made him look slightly more attractive. He had a light limp, but he did it with so much swagger.
It wasn't until the next day at school that I found out he was the one who made Rudd reverse Emma's bad grade.
I wanted, badly, to ask Rudd what the fuck was wrong with him, but I still didn't have the guts enough to do so.
I didn't see him as my teacher anymore.
He was a predator, but I couldn't talk cause there was so much shit in our relationship. We did drugs together, had drunk sex, did a lot of drunk driving, broke multiple school rules, and even more rules beyond school.
"Heyyy." I greeted Chase, flirtatiously.
"What the fuck is it this time?" he asked, pissed.
"Don't be like that!" I chided. "You don't get to go after her, begging her in the toilets she spends more time in than classes, and then scream at me. Chase, we've come too far for this." I looked down, putting my hands at my back in submission.
Normally, that was the point where Chase would put his hand on my back and drag me closer. But the gap between us remained the same, even more.
"I have no more need for this, Jessica." He never really said my name out loud.
We used pet names for the longest time, it felt weird hearing him say my actual name.
"You do, matter of fact, I'll let you realize that on your own." I said, turning back. At that point, I made up my mind to stop being the one he tramples on. "That limp looks good on you though." I added, walking away.
The light breeze in the doorway blew my skirt up, but I didn't mind feeling the cold wind on my rear.
It was the third day since he resumed school, at least I gave him a long enough time.
"I heard he sexed her so bad she didn't walk out with her own legs." one idiot said.
"Apparently, it was even a three star hotel." The other said, and they burst out laughing.
Seconds before I heard them laugh, I was the right amount of pissed to shove their teeth out of their mouth, but I was willing to let go. Hearing them find it so funny was all the excuse I needed.
As soon as I got to where they were, I slapped the living daylight out of her.
Classes were on, but a few of us gave no fuck, and that was all of us loitering around and treading the hallway.
"What the fuck, bitch?" The other girl asked.
I was taken aback, stunned.
"Say what you said again." I dare them, staring at her directly.
It was pretty empty, so we didn't have the grace of a crowd, cause I was about to fuck her face up very seriously.
"I said," Her friend said, squaring me up. "You are a slot, who got floored by a boring ass teacher." She repeated.
"And how did a boring ass nobody like you get such silly info?" I asked. I was a bit scared. It kinda got to me that news might be spreading. Gray could be right. I didn't care about Rudd's reputation, but I was too bad a bitch to be seen with Rudd.
I thought back to who could've seen us both and started telling stories.
I know Chase was there for a fact, but I still trusted him with my life to not talk. He didn't give so much of a fuck about Rudd and I to start peddling stories.
"Fuck you." I said, walking away.
More traffic was coming.
I tried to keep my head straight, but there was no way that what she said wouldn't have had me thinking.
Fortunately or unfortunately, Rudd was coming from the exact opposite side.
I dragged him into an empty room and bolted the door behind us.
"Rumor has it we had sex." I said, looking him straight in the eye. It's the first time we've talked since it happened. "No. Matter of fact, they say you had sex, and I was drugged and forced."
"Is that true?" He replied, smiling.
The extent of his heartlessness hurt me then. I felt the whole incident after the club was him trying to prove some sort of masculinity, and it sucks to admit, but when I thought back on it days after, I kinda liked it, only if he were a bit less sinister.
"Yes, it is." I answered back, raising my voice. "Would you like me to clarify matters?" I asked him, smiling.
I expected him to be shook, shocked, begging and crawling on his knees in fact.
"You can do that." He replied. "My letter of transfer is ready, baby. And just in case you were wondering, Chase helped me with it." He revealed.
No wonder!
"Fuck you!" I screamed in his face.
Right there, on school property, he slapped me hard across the face.
I looked around for cameras, they were there but weren't working. The room used to be a library when the school was smaller, so they didn't bother fixing the camera's.
"You're a fucking dwit. You're up to no good. As soon as shit hits the roof, I'll make sure I go live about it and you'll be a social misfit, worse still, a convict, and an ex-con for life." I spat in his face and unlocked the door,
Livid, I went to the class I was supposed to be in.
It hurt me a lot.
I wiped the tea in my right eye and decided to relegate all thoughts about Rudd till after school.
Chase was seated next to Emma, with Lily to the other side.
Gray was on Chase's left. They weren't best of friends, especially with Gray's discovery about Emma, but Chase somehow still made it work.
Gray never spoke to Emma, she never spoke to him, and Lily too didn't. I wondered, sometimes, how Chase made it work.
"Hey babe." I opened my eyes to see Rudd.
I was so convinced that it was a bad dream that I blinked hard, multiple times.
