Chase's POV
It's been barely a week since I started to get out of the house.
In that space, I've seen and done things I never thought I'd do.
From using my dad as influence to transfer Rudd, even after I knew that he was having an affair with Jessica and should be punished instead, to seeing Lily trip off the cameras in the security room for some reason.
She wasn't really the girl I used to know. So I didn't think it was a smart idea to challenge her.
Besides, she hated me badly. And I didn't exactly feel her either.
She'd extorted me of two grand in the space of two months.
Remembering that made me feel shut, when just a night ago, I had promised Emma that I wasn't gonna be keeping stuff from her,
It always unnerved me to see Emma and Lily together.
Lily had even begun to sleep over again.
Emma's mom and my dad were still not back, I hope Mrs Linda was alright.
"What the hell is she doing here?" I dragged Emma behind one of the heavy curtains and asked.
Lily had gone up to Emma's room already.
I had a date planned in mind. The stupid bitch was here to ruin it. And it was actually really bold of her coming to my house.
I wanted to storm Emma's room, make a joke and security cameras and stuff. But Lily was still Lily, dangerous.
Emma was so gullible sometimes, she surprised me. And I liked it.
"We're planning for prom." Emma said, smiling.
I was barely aware of anything.
I'd been living out of my body for the longest time. Couldn't even remember the prom theme, but I knew I had a date.
"How sure are y'all that you'd find someone?" I teased "Or you'd end up taking yourselves?" I suggested, laughing.
Emma's pretty face bunched into a tight frown and in flash speed, she walked out on me.
I didn't stand a decent chance of catching up with her, so I let her go.
My phone chimed beside me. I ignored it. The it did the second time, I had texts from two people,
Emma's mom, and an unknown number.
I opened Linda's text first, and I saw receipts of purchase on the house I wanted. The deal was done!
In my euphoria, I opened the second text, it read 'Emma's mine!' The amount of guts irritated me.
Emma was mine, had to be mine.
I thought of blocking the person, but I decided to ignore for the time being.
I locked the chat, so Emma doesn't see, just in case.
I irritated her a few minutes ago. But that didn't stop my big plan.
Reinvigorated, I grabbed the keys to my dads favorite sports car and bolted outta the estate.
I knew all sorts of jewelry shops, but I went to fRosty.
They had all sorts of large rocks.
I saw a few couples shopping, usually, the woman grinning from ear to ear.
There were a lot of men, buying necklaces and wristwatches, and rings, all sorts.
I knew nothing about women's jewelry, so I tagged along with the others.
I saw a few that caught my fancy, but I also didn't think Emma would've seen it as "cute and beautiful", like she called everything she liked.
"Hey." Someone greeted, tapping my back.
"Small man." The guys beside him added.
Disgusted, I turned back. They were the guys from the flower shop almost four months ago.
"Fred!" I said, hugging him.
He had his wedding band on. "Congratulations man." I added, parting his back.
His friend, whose name I never remembered too, was there beside him.
"Hey." I greeted him..
"What's up little man?" He asked. "Y'all that far gone already?" Fred's friend joked and burst out in laughter.
I had multiple rings on, and it was then it struck me how silly I looked.
"Err, yeah." I stuttered.
"Well, congratulations man." He replied, grinning and extending his hand.
Fred tousled my hair and they were soon on their way.
That degree of coincidence baffled me for minutes, before I finally got back to getting a ring and necklace and the hell outta fRosty.
"Anything I could help you with, sir?" A young pretty lady, an attendant at fRosty asked, walking up to me.
He had pretty green eyes like Emma.
"Matter of fact, yes." I replied. "How does this look? Forget you're out of that hideous shirt." I added. I already said it before I considered the possibility of her being annoyed, but she wasn't, she laughed instead.
"How does it look?" I asked her.
"Well, pretty." She said, blushing.
I was a bit embarrassed, but I badly needed Emma to like it.
"Is that the girl in you talking, or the sales assistant?" I asked her.
"Woman." An old woman offered rudely. "The woman in her." She turned her nose up and walked away, muttering nonsense.
The girl didn't seem to mind, so I took the rings from her and dismissed her with a bill.
She walked away, red from head to toe. Women are silly!
I shook my head, aware of the effect I had on the opposite gender and went to pay.
The lady in charge blushed at seeing my black card.
I looked away from her to the big screens showing destination's I've all been to.
He was done soon and I headed out of their store.
I slowed down, taking a moment to breathe. And think. But I didn't want to think much about it, so I jumped in the car, careful to leave the ring in the car so Emma wouldn't find it.
When I got back, she was done with Lily, I saw the fool drive out winking at me. It meant Emma was the only one around.
It was the best time.
I went into her room, she was half naked, with her ass and legs exposed.
"You freak!"She screamed and threw her bed clothes on. Deja vu!
I laughed, and moved even closer to her.
Emma grabbed her make-up stuff for protection, making it even funnier.
When she looked at her own hands, she laughed so loud, they dropped from her hand and she had a loose grip on the bed clothes.
I swooped in and rid her of them.
It was around seven in the evening. I had no commitments, except Emma.
