Tessa roared, her telekinetic power surging as shards of glass, splinters of wood, and jagged fragments of stone flew at Claire like a storm of knives. But Claire didn't flinch. She moved faster than I'd ever seen, her body blurring as she closed the distance. Each projectile that grazed her shattered harmlessly against her skin, leaving faint golden trails where they struck.
Before Tessa could react, Claire was on her. Her fist crashed into Tessa's face with the force of a freight train. Blood and teeth sprayed through the air as Tessa's head snapped back, her body lifted clean off the ground before slamming into the far wall. The impact cratered the concrete, chunks of debris raining down as Tessa struggled to stand, coughing up blood.
"Oh, I'm going to enjoy this." Claire growled, her voice a guttural snarl.
