  Chapter 7 Market

In the dim cabin, Ronan squatted in a corner of the wall, fumbled in the crack of the wall for a while, and pulled out a palm-sized black cloth bag.

He walked to the table and emptied everything in his pocket onto it.

They are some small crystals the size of mung beans with different colors.

  "one two three"

Ronan carefully counted the broken crystals on the table; there were seventy-six in total.

  Seventy-six magic stones shattered.

This is all the money he has now.

There are still a lot of worldly gold coins and gems, but in the wizarding land, these things cannot be spent.

The pocket watch showed that it was nine fifty in the morning, so it was still early.

Today Ronan plans to go to the living area of the wizarding town to buy some materials and daily necessities for his subsequent training.

Ronan changed into a light and convenient hunting suit, and put on his own wizard robe on the outside for cover.

The dagger that he usually used to cut meat was carefully tucked at his waist.

The dagger was left by his predecessor and was very sharp. Although he didn't have any close combat skills, it might come in handy.

The water bag, dry food, and finally the cloth bag containing seventy-six pieces of magic stone fragments, were placed close to the body.

Before leaving, he took a large bag of uneaten dried and salted meat from hunting.

After everything was ready, Ronan locked the door of the cabin, slid down the long vine to the bottom, then chose a direction he had never walked before and quickly disappeared into the jungle.

The entire Hoddam Wizarding Land is located in a huge basin, surrounded by dense and vast primeval forests.

Ronan stood on a high slope and looked at the Hoddam Wizarding Academy. He could only see a white fog. Surrounding it was a prosperous town, which looked like a circle of gray and black surrounding the white fog from a distance.

Ronan opened the water bag and took a sip, and a thin layer of sweat appeared on his forehead.

In order to reduce contact with people, my predecessor chose to live in a tree house far away from the town, so it still takes some time to walk there.

After walking for nearly two hours, Ronan finally approached the town.

The rugged mountain path beneath his feet became wide and flat, and more and more people could be seen in front of him, most of whom were wizard apprentices like him, and wide robes were basically standard.

"My lord, do you need a follower? With just ten low-level magic stones, you can gain ten years of my loyalty!"

"My lord! I will be your most reliable guard!"

When passing a small square in front of the town, a group of people rushed towards Ronan. Most of them were strong and had huge swords on their backs.

These are adventurers who practice the way of chivalry.

Ronan wanted to get in touch with them to see if he could learn some authentic knight breathing techniques to alleviate the problem of his body being eroded by energy particles.

But when he thought about the limited money he had and the many things he needed to buy on this trip, and the fact that these guys in front of him dared to hang around in the wizard's land as mortals, they were probably all shrewd people, and he couldn't tell how many magic stones they would ask for as soon as they opened their mouths.

  So I declined them all.

Walking through the square, there is a dilapidated earthen wall made of gray stones, and inside is the town's living area.

It is said that these earth walls were left over from many years ago, when the Hoddam settlement had just taken shape and there were not as many wizards as there are now.

At that time, there were many magical beasts living in the forest, and beast tides would often break out.

After the magical beasts in the forests surrounding the gathering place were driven out and the beast tide disappeared, Hoddam gradually developed to its current size.

Ronan entered the town and saw three roads in front of him.

The middle one leads directly to the Hoddam Wizarding Academy, the one on the left leads to the Dwarf Market, and the one on the right is a comprehensive market spontaneously formed by wandering wizards.

The road on the left was obviously in better repair. Wizards like Ronan who entered the town basically turned and headed right.

Ronan wanted to see what the legendary dwarves looked like, but from a distance, it seemed that there were people guarding the entrance to the dwarf market, and ordinary wizards were not allowed to enter.

While Ronan was standing there watching, a group of people happened to be walking down the middle road, talking and laughing, heading straight towards the Dwarf Market.

These people were all wearing brand new and beautiful wizard robes, and on their hands, which were inadvertently exposed, they were wearing shiny rings with obvious energy particle fluctuations. They looked dignified and looked like the chosen ones of heaven.

Ronan glanced at this group of "academicians" with envy, then turned and went to the wizard market.

The wizard market was quite different from what Ronan had imagined. It was just an ordinary street with not many people, but the sanitary conditions were worrying. He could even see animal carcasses and feces in the gutters on the side of the road.

There are various low buildings on both sides of the street, most of which have no signs. If you want to know what the shops sell, you mainly rely on experience and observation.

Ronan walked and stopped along the way. He had a total of seventy-six magic stone grains in "change" on him, so he didn't dare to enter any of the slightly more prestigious shops. He could only stand at the door and look inside.

"Damn it, they want five magic stones for a few kilograms of flour, why don't I just go and rob them?!"

Ronan walked out of a bakery cursing. Tired of whole grains, he wanted to change his taste, but he didn't expect that what he was eating was already the cheapest food in the entire settlement.

"Forget it, let's just eat meat as the staple food from now on. Vegetables are readily available in the forest anyway."

Ronan put the flour bag on his waist with a bit of depression.

In the wizarding land where prices are soaring, he really feels like he can't afford to live.

The main reason is that wizards do not engage in production, and the food sold in wizard land is basically transported from the secular kingdom.

The food itself is not valuable, but the cost of transporting it is very expensive.

Ronan was heartbroken after spending another magic stone and only buying some necessary seasonings for cooking.

So far, he has no means to earn magic stones.

There are dozens of magic stone particles on my body, and each one I spend will be one less.

He originally thought that since the prices in Wizarding Land were high, the dried animal meat he brought should be worth some money.

But I didn't know that no one would look down on me at all.

There is no shortage of ordinary meat in the wizarding land. What is lacking is the meat of magical beasts with either wonderful texture or special effects.

Ronan has never seen what the Warcraft looks like, so he would have to go deep into the forest to have a chance to encounter it.

Continuing along the street of shops, Ronan began to see wizard stalls set up on the spot.

Then there were more and more people.

When you get to the end, all you see are stalls of all kinds, with no signs of shops at all.

"Fresh fire lizard blood has top-notch forging and enchanting effects. Now a bottle only costs five low-grade magic stones!"

"A pseudo-zero-level intermediate attack tool! Double runes, 90% new, on sale!"

"Ghost Face Flower Seeds, Blue Song Grass Flower Hearts, and all the potion materials you want are here!"

The streets were crowded with people, and the sounds of hawking and bargaining were endless. Some of the wizards passing by were well-dressed, while others were wearing tattered robes or even patched robes, which were even worse than Ronan's.

Amidst the hustle and bustle, Ronan also relaxed, no longer as nervous and restrained as he had been in the shopping street.

Although he didn't recognize most of the things on the stalls in front of him and couldn't understand most of the hawking sounds around him, this didn't stop him from gradually blending in.
