Chapter 14: Thunder's Wrath

Morva, the God of Storms and Thunder, stood before Karcel and her companions, his immense form crackling with power. His eyes were twin bolts of lightning, and the storm around him swirled with the fury of an enraged deity.

"You've come far," he said, voice booming. "But the heavens belong to the gods, not to you, Karcel."

Karcel stepped forward, her light flickering against the violent winds. "This war will end, Morva. The heavens belong to all who seek balance, not to those who would tear them apart."

Morva sneered. "Balance? You speak of balance, yet you wield the very Key that upsets it. The gods will not bow to a mortal-bound goddess."

Without warning, Morva raised his hands to the sky, and thunder roared, splitting the heavens. Bolts of lightning crashed down, striking the ground near Karcel and her companions. The mortals scrambled, shields raised against the ferocious onslaught.

Naida was the first to counter. Calling upon the depths of the oceans, she summoned towering waves from the clouds above, attempting to quell the storm. Water met lightning in a violent clash, the two elements battling for dominance.

Rael leapt forward, her sword gleaming as she cut through the tempest. She aimed for Morva's heart, but the god's form was intangible, a living embodiment of the storm itself. He laughed, a sound that reverberated across the battlefield like rolling thunder.

"You cannot touch me, mortal!" Morva bellowed. "I am the storm!"

Karcel knew that brute force alone would not defeat Morva. She needed to turn his own power against him. Channeling the energy of the Key, she called forth her light, shaping it into a radiant barrier to protect her allies.

"Rael, Naida!" she shouted over the howling winds. "Distract him—I need time!"

The two nodded, launching a coordinated assault on the storm god, though their strikes seemed to pass through his form like mist. Morva grew more enraged with each failed attack, his lightning becoming more erratic, his control slipping.

Karcel focused her energy, drawing the storm's power into her own. She could feel the weight of the heavens pressing down on her, the untamed fury of Morva's storms threatening to overwhelm her senses. But she held firm, her light unwavering.

With a final surge of power, Karcel unleashed a brilliant arc of divine energy, weaving it into the storm. The lightning, once Morva's to command, bent to her will, turning back on its master. Morva screamed as his own power consumed him, the storm collapsing inward as the light of creation surged through him.

With a blinding flash, the God of Storms was no more.
