CHAPTER 130

EDWINA

I didn't know what pushed me into sending that response to Orion. 

My instincts kept telling me to listen to Juliette, but a part of me wanted to know what happened with Orion.

So I sent the message, and waited. 

I didn't have to wait for long though. He sent a quick text back, and the date was set. 

Sleep eluded me for the rest of the night. I kept having nightmares, dreams where my past chased me, haunted me relentlessly until I didn't know where I started and where my fear ended. 

The moment dawn broke through the clouds, I felt a sudden rush of clarity.

It was as though the confusion in my mind has been chased away with the darkness. As I prepared my son for school though, some lingering unease in my chest remained.

I would be meeting Orion in a few hours. 

My decision to meet the stranger I met last night gnawed at me, but it was too late to turn back now.
