EDWINA
I didn't know what pushed me into sending that response to Orion.
My instincts kept telling me to listen to Juliette, but a part of me wanted to know what happened with Orion.
So I sent the message, and waited.
I didn't have to wait for long though. He sent a quick text back, and the date was set.
Sleep eluded me for the rest of the night. I kept having nightmares, dreams where my past chased me, haunted me relentlessly until I didn't know where I started and where my fear ended.
The moment dawn broke through the clouds, I felt a sudden rush of clarity.
It was as though the confusion in my mind has been chased away with the darkness. As I prepared my son for school though, some lingering unease in my chest remained.
I would be meeting Orion in a few hours.
My decision to meet the stranger I met last night gnawed at me, but it was too late to turn back now.
