CHAPTER 140

EDWINA

The sun woke up before I did.

It sneaked into the room through the slits in the curtain, the warmness prying at the edge of my conscience. The light and penetrated through my closed eyes, jogging me out of my sleep.

I groaned, pulling the covers tighter around me, trying to retreat back into the comforting darkness. But it was no use—the sun had its way.

I yawned, my hands instinctively fluttering upwards to cover my mouth.

I felt comfortable, my body relaxed and loosened in a way it hadn't been in a long time.

I wasn't ready to open my eyes, so I didn't. Instead, I burrowed into the soft, what had to be the fluffiest bed, and drew the covers more closer to my body.

Mere minutes after I had gotten so comfortable again, Noah barraged into the room, his voice interrupting my flow.

"Mummy! Wake up! Daddy is cooking breakfast for us!" he yelled, his entire body making the bed dip as he climbed up next to me.
