KIERAN
Edwina was scaring the shit out of me.
I had been scared out of my mind, terrified, when she lost consciousness at home. I had to drive her all the way to the hospital like a man possessed, panic wrapping its cold hands around my throat.
The doctors said her pulse was weak, and apparently, the pregnancy was taking an even greater toll on her than I was aware of.
He also advised me to stop her from doing, seeing or thinking about anything that would raise her stress levels. Keep her away from anything that might make things worse.
How was I supposed to tell him that our son was missing?
How could I explain, that it was that dreadful realisation that had been the trigger for her collapse, the thing that drove her unconscious in the first place?
Archie and Charlotte, who was the one who called Juliette to inform her of the new development, had immediately headed to the police station.
