NOAH
"Took you long enough. I have been trying to reach you for hours," Luke snapped, his annoyance evident in his tone.
I ran a hand down my face.
"I'm sorry, Luke. It wasn't intentional. This has been a…lot," I said apologetically. I was back in my room, and my head was spinning.
Ciara's words kept ringing in my ears, and for some reason, it made my heart ache slightly.
'Because he makes me uncomfortable. Why would I be in my parent's house and feel like an outsider all because of him? I hate it. I hate seeing him anywhere near me. I'm afraid that he is going to taint all the memories I have here by just being in his house.'
Was that she disgusted by my presence, that she had to say words that threatened to shatter the careful wall of control I had built over the years?
"...and they keep demanding…are you even listening to me?" Luke snapped again, stopping my train of thought and bringing me back to reality.
