CHAPTER 50

CIARA 

I was actually excited to witness the board meeting for the partnership onboarding.

 It would be a much needed reprieve from the daily routine I had gotten used to. 

I didn't show my excitement though. I ensured that my face was carefully blank, but my heart raced regardless. 

"You nervous?" Noah asked as he parked the car in his company's garage. 

"No. I am not. Just…anticipating," I stated. 

I actually wasn't nervous. I was excited. It never occurred to me how badly I wanted to see him in an official setting. 

Probably because I was bored out of my mind. 

"Okay. Let's go then," he said and got out of the car. 

I followed him into the building. Immediately we stepped in, the dynamics shifted. The air changed, becoming charged with tension. Everyone started to stare, and it made my skin prickle.
