CIARA
I was actually excited to witness the board meeting for the partnership onboarding.
It would be a much needed reprieve from the daily routine I had gotten used to.
I didn't show my excitement though. I ensured that my face was carefully blank, but my heart raced regardless.
"You nervous?" Noah asked as he parked the car in his company's garage.
"No. I am not. Just…anticipating," I stated.
I actually wasn't nervous. I was excited. It never occurred to me how badly I wanted to see him in an official setting.
Probably because I was bored out of my mind.
"Okay. Let's go then," he said and got out of the car.
I followed him into the building. Immediately we stepped in, the dynamics shifted. The air changed, becoming charged with tension. Everyone started to stare, and it made my skin prickle.
