NOAH
I called Ciara when I left the office to let her know that I was on my way.
She would close up the bakery while I drove over, and together, we would head back home.
Work had been a little hectic today.
That was an understatement, but I would leave it at that. There was no point dwelling on it, it wasn't as though I could have avoided the stress.
Luke didn't come in like I asked him not to, and I realised that this was the first time I would be spending away from my personal assistant at work.
Without him to act as my buffer, the dizzying reality of my workload hit me right on the face.
He was doing far much work than I knew. Since I hired him, it had never occurred to me that Luke might have been working harder than he was supposed to, taking on more tasks, rather than passing them on to me.
