Barracks

Kain and Unaq walked around, side by side. Kain looked inside of his money pouch and saw a bunch of circular blue coins, with circular holes in them. This was the Yu, the currency of the water nation. This currency was practically only used in the water tribes. There were barely any places in the earth nation that would accept this kind of money.

However, the citizens of Na'Ok Thu happily accepted receiving payments in the earth kingdom coins. After all, these coins were accepted everywhere except for the fire nation and were used to trade with merchants for valuable materials that couldn't be found in the icy regions of the water tribes.

He counted 500 Yu inside the pouch and satisfied, he put the pouch on a pocket that was fashioned inside of his water tribe robes. They two of them walked around, asking a group of soldiers for the location of the barracks. Seeing them as fellow soldiers, the soldiers happily pointed them in the right direction.

They walked through the crowds of people, looking around the merchants' stalls, looking for any interesting products. Finding nothing except for food he looked over at Unaq, who was taking a massive bite out of a fish skewer, holding multiple of them on his other hand, 'I saw that skewer being sold at a merchant's stall for 5 Yu a stick and he's bought five. He'll run out of money by the end of this week if he continues spending like this. Can he even eat that much?"

It turns out that Unaq could in fact eat 5 fish skewers. Kain sighed, 'I'm just going to convert all of my Yu into earth kingdom coins. By what Maroq taught me, even though the ratio of their spending power is 1:1, the merchants charge 10% more because Yu is only used in water tribe territory. Then they use that Yu to buy things abundant in the water tribes, like fish. They then trade the fish for more coins at earth nation villages. It's quite ingenious, actually.'

But before he converted most of his money into coins, he had to visit the barracks first.

Finally, after walking in the direction the soldiers had pointed them in, they reached a large structure. This building did actually look like what he expected a barrack to be like. It was wooden, very wide and had a slanted roof. He could see many soldiers walking around the building, holding weapons and talking with each other.

Both of them approached the barrack, walking towards the door guarded by one bored looking guard. It was at this moment that Unaq turned pale, "Shit. We forgot to get our passports stamped at the office. They won't let us in without our passports.

However, Kain just ignored him and walked to the guards before greeting, "Good day." the guard looked up, amused, "Yes, it is a good day, is it not? I haven't seen you around here so I'm guessing you're new?"

Upon seeing Kain nod the guard continued, "Well, there's no need to wait. Both of you, come on right in. We can't have a fellow warrior walk around without a weapon, can we?"

Kain smiles, 'If the security is this lax, we might as well use it to our advantage.' He looked to his side and saw an astonished Unaq, which made his smile even wider.

"Well? What are you waiting for Unaq? Let's go get our weapons, shall we?" He said, before following the guard inside. Unaq was still a bit stunned but he soon got over it and followed him inside too.

Walking inside, they saw a hallway with a room to the right, left and directly ahead. There were a few soldiers walking around the hall, talking to each other.

The guard accompanying them pointed to the left, "That's the cafeteria. It's also connected to our supply room." he then pointed to the front, "That's the sleeping area. You can just choose a random bed in there and go to sleep, if you have no other place to go to."

He then pointed to his right, "That's the weapon room. Let's go there and get you fitted first." He walked over to the room, with the duo following behind him.

As they entered the room he saw many racks of weapons. There were axes, swords, daggers, spears and even some water pouches for the waterbenders. There were also a tables holding sets of water tribe armor, fitted with a wolf headpiece.

He was honestly surprised that there were so many weapons, before realizing that the reason for the surplus of weapons was because no one needed to replace their weapon after a battle, since there were no battles anymore.

'Of course.'

The guard waved his arms towards the racks, "Well, choose your pick. You can take any of these. No one is judging you here."

Unaq rushed over towards the racks with wonder, looking for a high quality weapon. As he picked up an axe and looked it over, Kain walked over to the water pouches and picked up one, looking it over, making sure that it didn't have any holes or imperfections. Satisfied, he took another two with him. You never could be too sure.

He went over to the table holding armor and took a belt from a armor set. He attached the belt around his waist, and fitted the water pouches onto his belt. He then walked over to the rack, picking up a pair of daggers. Even if waterbending was his strongest weapon, an extra pair of weapons incase of an emergency would be very useful.

Turning back, he saw Unaq fitted in a set of armor. He had a massive two handed battle axe on his back. He raised his eyebrows looking at his choice of weapon, "Are you sure you want to use a two handed weapon, and a one as heavy as that?"

Unaq looked at him perplexed, "Uh, yes? Is there a problem with a battle axe?"

Kain simply smiled putting his hand on Unaq's shoulder, "No, it was just a thought. You can just keep being yourself."

Unaq looked at him weirdly, "Ok? I'm not sure what you mean but I know that I'm hungry. Lets go eat."

He walked back to the hall, and went to the cafeteria, Kain following behind.
