"Crack… crack…"
"Run, everybody!"
"The hunt has begun…"
"Someone save me…"
"Damn it, I don't want to die!"
"How did this even happen?"
"I beg you, kill me if you want—but spare my child!"
"Aah… aah…"
…
Time passed.
The Celestial Dragons' human hunting was officially underway, unleashing an inhumane massacre upon God Valley. Countless locals, slaves, and criminals who had been in hiding—or never had a chance to hide—were discovered one by one by the hunting Celestial Dragons. Guns, cannons, swords, bows… They were slaughtered mercilessly. Elderly, children, women, strong young men… whether ordinary humans, Fish-Men, Minks, or Longarm and Longleg Tribe members—once spotted, they were savagely cut down by the wildly excited Celestial Dragons.
Some parents, trying to protect their children, begged the Celestial Dragons for mercy. In return, they received only cold bullets or blades. For amusement, certain Celestial Dragons took even babies less than a year old and skewered them in gruesome fashion—without giving a clean death, but leaving them alive and crying, to show off the spectacle. They even wanted photographs taken for display. Other slaves or criminals tried to fight back; having no weapons, they were quickly gunned or cut down. Those with notable strength or higher "point value" were soon targeted by members of the Holy Knights.
"Saint Garling has already scored 100,000 points!!!"
"He's focusing on the high-value 'rabbits'?"
"That's amazing!"
As the top favorite to win, Saint Garling's remarkable performance naturally drew constant attention, prompting exclamations of awe from the surrounding Celestial Dragons.
…
"It's a living hell."
At the top of God Valley's central gorge, perched on a sheer cliff, Dal watched the Celestial Dragons' cruelty with a cold glint in his eyes.
"Killing for sport… The depth of their wickedness is unfathomable."
He recalled how, back in the day, the Lunarian race had been persecuted by the World Government and nearly wiped out. After all these years of scouring remote islands—even those in the Calm Belt—no sign of other Lunarians had turned up. It seemed that once-proud "Race of Gods" dwelling on the Red Line truly had only two scattered remnants: Eir's branch and Fire Calamity Afar's. Fortunate indeed that the children of his father, the "Heavenly Man" of the Kukulkan line, had been born in an age where they never had to endure such persecution—where Totto Land Kingdom, established by El and his multi-ethnic allies, could go head-to-head with the World Government, freeing the Lunarians from a life of hiding.
"Shhh… shhh…"
At last, Dal, unable to sit by idly, began covertly rescuing as many unspotted women and children as possible. Taking care not to be seen, he transferred them into the Mirror World.
"Dal-sama, time's almost up!"
Once Barry had brought those civilians into the Mirror World, Uthan spoke somberly from beside him:
"The Rocks Pirates have arrived… we should make our move!"
Sure enough, just then—
"Boom—!"
A thunderous explosion in the distance. One of the warships encircling the island burst into flame, black smoke pouring into the sky, catching many on the island off guard.
"What's happening?"
"It's from the eastern shoreline…"
"Ah! The Rocks Pirates!!!"
"Dammit, wave after wave of pirate ships…"
"Wasn't this Celestial Dragon hunting event supposed to be classified?!"
"How'd they show up here?"
"Screw the Navy—what are you doing? If anything happens to us, you'll be held responsible!"
"All units, prepare to engage the enemy!"
"Boom… boom…"
A torrent of cannon fire rained down. Marines exclaimed in alarm. Confronted with an unexpectedly large pirate fleet descending from the sky, they were thrown into disarray. Some Celestial Dragons nearly caught in the shelling became livid, screaming angrily at the flustered Marines.
"Doo—doo—"
Sharp sirens blared through the air, alerting all Celestial Dragons in mid-hunt.
…
"Dammit, what's going on?"
In the center of God Valley, near a grand palace not far from the main platform, Saint Saturn had been comfortably sipping afternoon tea. Hearing the commotion, his face darkened with annoyance.
"How was the information leaked?"
"We're not sure, but we can't underestimate the Rocks Pirates… My lord, I'll go check!" said Saint Dennis, the Holy Knights' Commander, without hesitation, hurrying off.
…
Right then, in the strange green dimension high atop a cliff, two figures—a young adult and a child—watched from afar the row of chests on the main platform below. They themselves had six identical chests in their possession.
"Air Door!"
Uthan lifted his right hand, thumb and forefinger pinching the air like a doorknob. He gave a gentle pull, opening a barely noticeable "door," no bigger than a person's thumb, connecting to the outside world's space. Alongside him, Dal carefully adjusted the angle of the chests so they matched exactly with the ones on the platform.
"Transfer!"
His eyes narrowed in concentration, and in an instant, each chest swapped places with those displayed on the platform. It all happened so fast that no one noticed, even the guards.
"Hmm?"
Having just rushed out of the palace, Saint Dennis instinctively glanced toward the platform but saw nothing amiss. Morphing into a thunderbird, he flew toward the eastern coast.
"Done!"
…
"Boom… boom…"
"Yahahaha, worthless Marines…"
Aboard the leading flagship, Rocks was wreathed in darkness, swallowing every trace of light.
"Crack—!"
A blinding slash cleaved the warship ahead. Charging over the water, Rocks landed on the shoreline first:
"Men, follow me!!!"
"Hey, wait—Rocks, you bastard. When did we become your subordinates?" Whitebeard's veins pulsed; he shouted in frustration. But Rocks, carried away by excitement, ignored him and forged ahead.
"You casually mentioned that whoever lands first controls the east side. Good enough, yeah?" said Golden Lion Shiki, cigar in his mouth.
"But of course…"
"Victory is mine!"
Other officers of the Rocks Pirates eyed each other with fervor, grinning viciously.
"That fool Rocks won't see our real aim once he's going at the World Government full tilt."
Wielding the naginata known as Murakumogiri, the towering Whitebeard said sternly, "We have to find our target quickly!"
"Quit acting like you're in charge, Newgate," Shiki retorted, kicking him. "Watch out or I'll toss you all sky-high!"
"Have John, Wang Zhi, and Silver Axe arrived?"
"Yeah, they just signaled they'll be landing on the south shore soon!"
"Gehahaha, probably the Navy thinks they've come as reinforcements!"
"Let's get moving—!"
