Chapter 439: To the Moon and Beyond (End)

Time flies.

Five years passed in the blink of an eye.

With the formal overthrow of the World Government,

An unprecedentedly colossal Totto Land Empire arose upon the seas.

And the Lunarian race—or rather, the Kukulkan family—now stood at the pinnacle of the world.

After taking in the Navy's strength, Totto Land's Army, Navy, and Air Force rapidly swelled in manpower and struck out in all directions.

Those harboring wishful thinking, refusing to surrender, or clinging to futile resistance were conquered one after another.

There were also naval officers who tried to carve out their own domains, vainly attempting to build up private power. They were directly crushed by Totto Land's grand army; their families were publicly punished as an example, serving to intimidate those ambitious souls who refused to lie low, hoping to profit in chaos.

Meanwhile, pirates were hunted down and purged from the seas without mercy.

Over the course of five full years, the war-torn seas finally found stability.

A new order had taken shape.

All islands and nations across the oceans were conquered.

Thus, the seas were wholly unified.

At the same time…

A series of cloned Sauls (of the same type as Saul) continued using the power of the artificial Stone-Stone Fruit.

They transformed the islands and kept excavating lost ruins beneath the ocean, bringing them once more to light.

Immense causeways connected the islands.

Railroad tracks were laid down in great quantity, and trains started running everywhere.

Additionally, a large variety of automobiles of every model were introduced by the Hell Trading Company.

Because the islands of the Grand Line were now closely linked and highways had opened up, cars were in ever-increasing demand. This business opportunity energized the domestic economy, yielding enormous profit.

Technology combined with the power of Devil Fruits…

Together, they produced unbelievable results.

"It's truly unimaginable…"

Atop the Red Line—

The former Holy Land, once reduced to ruins, had long since been rebuilt.

A magnificent palace, designed entirely to giant scale, now rises there.

Its grandeur was imposing, supreme, glittering like gold and jade.

Far beyond the old Pangaea Castle, it delivered a tremendous visual impact.

Under such splendor, those who looked up at it could not help feeling deep awe in their hearts, struck by their own insignificance.

In an immense square—expansive enough for hundreds of millions of people, adorned with beautiful views and blossoming flowers—stood a gargantuan statue, so enormous it seemed to blot out the sun, gazing down upon the world.

It was none other than the Great Ruler of the World—His Majesty Kukulkan El!

Each day, countless people came here to pay homage—to pray devoutly or even pledge their oaths.

"Tsuru, doesn't it all feel like a dream?"

Lightly stroking her once-again rounded belly, the three-eyed beauty Lillian asked with a smile.

Looking upon the splendid square and the lofty palace rising into the clouds, her gaze brimmed with pride.

When she looked up at that towering statue, her eyes shone with fervor and reverence.

All these changes had been brought about by that man.

He was, without question, the true savior.

"It does indeed…"

Tsuru, ever more mature and radiant, smiled softly.

Leading her three-year-old daughter by the hand through the square, this female prime minister of the Totto Land Empire—its most stunning "imperial flower"—cast her gaze over the entire sea. A touch of emotion laced her voice: "El really did accomplish everything he promised. All races can live in harmony now. There is no longer any racial discrimination, no more oppression or slavery!"

In the past, who could have imagined that the world would transform so profoundly?

It was practically a paradise on earth.

"Mama, what are they doing?"

Although she was still quite young, she had inherited the Kukulkan family's blood and was already taller than Tsuru, with wings on her back. The dainty little girl stared with wide eyes at the devout people kneeling in the square before the massive statue, tears glistening, overcome with religious zeal as they continuously bowed. She bit her finger, puzzled: "Did they do something wrong? Why else would they kneel before Father's statue?"

"No, they are giving thanks; they are praying…"

Tsuru patted the girl on the head and smiled. "They're thanking your father for bringing a new life and hope to this world, creating a hitherto unseen New Era, and pulling them out of hell on earth into a human paradise!"

"Thanking Father?"

The girl tilted her head thoughtfully.

A wide, enormous causeway stretched outward from the Holy Land atop the Red Line, reaching down to the seas below and connecting all the way to Marineford, which in turn linked to the rejuvenated Sabaody Archipelago and beyond.

From a distance, it looked like a huge stairway ascending into the sky—breathtaking and awe-inspiring.

"Yes indeed! Your father is the greatest savior in this world!" Lillian cupped the little girl's cheeks, her bright eyes smiling.

"Be proud, be grateful, Little Peacock…"

Tsuru looked into her daughter's eyes and smiled. "You who were born into the Kukulkan family will never again bear the tragic fate once thrust upon the Lunarian race, because your father has already paved the way for you!"

Thinking back to the past few years—

Even Tsuru herself, who had personally witnessed and experienced it, felt as if in a dream.

Over five years, most of the Grand Line had been unified into one entity.

Clones of Saul continued to be mass-produced. Although there was still some way to go before uniting the entire world, it was only a matter of time.

Moreover, the research team had successfully mass-produced the Paramecia-type Grow-Grow Fruit.

Those giant clone warriors—created for a single purpose—used its abilities to cultivate grains, medicinal herbs, and various economic crops on every island.

Famine, once a constant threat across the seas, was effectively solved.

It wasn't handed out for free, but as long as people were willing to work, no one would starve.

"By the way, where did Linlin and Gerd go?" Lillian asked, rubbing her round belly out of curiosity. "It looks like Sally and Stussy are missing too…"

"They left the Holy Land with El early this morning—when you, Lillian, were still fast asleep!" Tsuru said with a smile. "I heard Vegapunk cooked up some impressive new inventions!"

"Eh!?"

"Vegapunk, are you sure this thing can reach the moon?"

Right now—

On a reclusive research island off-limits to all outsiders,

Linlin, Sally, Gerd, Stussy, Tethys, and the others were gathered around, gazing curiously at a massive rocket, at least a few dozen meters tall.

"Absolutely certain!"

Vegapunk—now Director of the Totto Land Imperial Royal Academy of Sciences—rubbed his newly modified head, which now sported an apple-shaped antenna.

Indeed, because his brain (enhanced by the Brain-Brain Fruit) kept growing with his accumulated knowledge and was becoming unwieldy, he removed part of it.

He converted that removed portion into a special "Fake Record" device. By linking it to the antenna, he could upload and access all that stored data.

Meanwhile, the sliced-off brain continued to grow day by day, with more research.

"We're aiming to send ten people and a batch of robots on this first voyage!"

Said Ryan, deputy director of the Royal Academy of Sciences, with a smile: "We'll start by building a base up there, then follow with a second and third wave…"

"Until we establish a settlement suited for living and begin the Moon-Colonization Plan, making it one of our transfer stations!"

"According to El-sama's blueprint, this is only the beginning!"

Hearing all this—

Linlin, Gerd, and the others stared in astonishment at the tall figure before them, his broad back crowned with wings, handsome and imposing.

"Yes. Our future vision doesn't end at the moon; we intend to explore the endless starry sky," El said, gazing upward, smiling. "We'll plant the flag of Totto Land throughout that boundless ocean of stars!"

"In the vast cosmos, there certainly isn't just one or two planets supporting life. There must be other intelligent races we've yet to discover!"

That was his ambition. His advance would never stop there.

With the treasure of pure gold, their lifespans were long; they had ample time and energy to set out across the starry expanse.

"El-sama, are we ready…"

Dr. Tsukimi came forward to ask, "Should we ignite now?"

He gazed at this tall figure, filled with emotion.

No one would have guessed that this man would go so far, fulfilling every oath he'd made, leading everyone into such a splendid and never-before-seen new age.

Moreover, scientists like himself were free to devote themselves to research and the unknown, with their families well cared for—no worries at all.

"Go ahead," El nodded.

"Mamama, leave it to me…"

Linlin happily accepted the ignition control from Dr. Tsukimi.

This esteemed empress of the Totto Land Empire pressed the switch.

"Boom—!" The massive rocket thundered, spewing flames and accelerating at a staggering rate.

Carrying the Totto Land Empire's dreams and goals—and El's desire to conquer the vast cosmic seas—it soared off this blue planet and headed for the boundless expanse of outer space…

The Author didn't give a speech! So do I! Joke!

Bleam: Thank you, readers! I hope you all enjoyed the journey this story took us on! This was my first time translating a One Piece fanfic, so I hope I did it justice—just like Sengoku did to Chinjao, haha.

One thing I did hate, though, was how long that fight dragged on. It was agonizing for both the readers and me. Faloo can be an expensive place; every word costs money, which is why the author tends to farm readers like this.
