"Lucy... I—" His lips parted, then pressed shut, trapping everything he wanted to say behind them.

The silence dragged on, and her eyes glistened.

"I don't blame you," she said softly, though her voice quivered on the edge of breaking.

"But please... be honest with me. Do you love someone else now—more than me?"

The question hit him hard. His gaze faltered, guilt flickering across his face.

She bit her lip, struggling to hold back tears. She thought she was ready, but the truth still stung.

He made a decision—he could not keep lying to her forever.

"When we separated. I was sent to the Void, a place of eternal darkness."

"The Void?" she repeated, her brow knitting tight. 

"Yes," he responded with a slow nod. "I spent what felt like an eternity, just drifting, losing all hope of ever getting out. To be honest , it was worst than death,"
