A stranger driving through or visiting town quickly becomes hot gossip. This is one of the 4,724 reasons I want to escape this town.

Adrian video calls me late the next afternoon.

“My nerves are kicking into high gear the closer to the time for Winston to arrive draws near. I’m not sure why I agreed to attend a dinner with him tonight at his parents’ house. I mean, I’ve enjoyed our time spent together getting my store ready. I enjoy that we share similar goals for the next year and beyond. While all my friends go to college classes, we chose to work full time on our businesses. There’s something about dining with his parents that seems more like a couple than just friends. He claims this is not a date, just a casual dinner to discuss business. What do you think?”

 “What should I wear? I think my definition of casual and Winston’s family’s might be very different. Should I wear my simple yellow sundress that has pale green flowers with my ballet flats?”
