Chapter 118: Madison

When the doorbell rings, Liberty sprints from her toys, excited to see her cousins.

“It’s probably Fallon,” I inform my daughter, raising her into my arms. “Let’s see.”

Fallon smiles as we open the door.

“Hola!” Liberty immediately reaches for her. She plants a noisy kiss on Fallon’s cheek. “Pway?”

Fallon lowers Liberty to the floor. “I need to talk to your mommy for a bit, then I will come play with you.”

Happy with the promise, Liberty scurries back to her blocks on the wooden floor across the room.

“What’s up?” Fallon asks, voice lowered.

“Let’s move over here.” I return to the barstools and my friends. “This is Hamilton’s mother, Memphis, and his sister, Amy.” I motion in their direction. “And you’ve met Delta, right?”

“Yes. We’ve met a few times,” Delta answers.

Fallon says hello to my guests, nervously climbing onto an empty barstool.
