“Uh…”
My head felt like it was filled with lead, and my body was just as heavy. I could barely open my eyes.
“Thank goodness you're awake!” Carlos's voice broke through the fog in my mind. As my senses adjusted, I was pleasant to see the afternoon sunlight softly spilling across my blanket. However, I didn’t recognize this place.
“Carlos? Where am I?”
I tried to sit up, and Carlos quickly lent me a hand. “Easy, Mira! You are at the infirmary.”
“How did I end up in the Infirmary?”
I remembered being in the warehouse with Joshua. I helped him clean his wound, and then... Had I fainted? I had no memories after that.
“That's my question for you, Mira!” Carlos's tone was sharp, but I could hear the worry in his tone. “I got a message from Master Harold, saying you were here but that was it. You were out for almost three days! What the hell happened?”
I was out for three days?!
