Chapter 27 A Luna’s Job

Natalie’s hand flew to her cheek, her eyes wide with disbelief as tears started streaming down her face. “You…! How dare you hit me?!”

I didn’t even blink. “That one was for Carlos. You should consider yourself lucky I’m letting the one you gave me slide—for now.”

She glared at me, trembling with rage. “Do you know who I am? I’m your future Luna! I can do whatever I want!”

“Then go ahead, cry to the Alpha,” I taunted, my voice sharp as I glanced over at her group, daring them to step in. “Let’s see who’s in trouble when he hears what you’ve done to Carlos!”

She hesitated, and in that brief moment, I knew I’d struck a nerve. Her whole story about Alpha Sterne treating her like royalty was mostly bluff.

If there was one thing I respected about Zeke Sterne, it was that he fiercely protected his own. Both Mason and Joshua were close to him, and their attitude toward Natalie mirrored his. If she really had his support, they would’ve shown it by now.
