Faster. I needed to move faster. My legs burned as I pushed my body past its limits, each stride pounding the earth beneath me. My mind was laser-focused on one thing—getting to Mira and Jane before everything spiraled beyond control.


We'd passed Jane's abandoned car a mile back. I was able to pick up her scent along with Mira’s, but something was off. Their scents were mixed with too many others, indicating that most likely, they didn’t move on their own—someone else had gotten to them. 


Hopefully, if they were close enough, I should be able to reach Jane through the mindlink. Gritting my teeth, I sent out the request for what felt like the hundredth time. Thank goodness, this time, there was a faint response echoed back.


Jane's panicked voice filled my mind. ‘Alpha—Big Cousin?! Is that you?!’


‘You’ve got some nerve, Jane!’ I snarled, ‘What the fuck were you thinking busting Natalie out?’
