Chapter 7: She Would Become the Mistress of the Gu Family

The image of those wild men with lecherous eyes closing in on her haunted Gu Yining's mind, an unshakable nightmare that replayed over and over. If she hadn't been so stubbornly defiant, or if she hadn't happened to overhear Master Fu's order to book the entire venue, she might have ended up dismembered and humiliated in that private room.

Before the old master of the Gu family passed away, he had made a will stipulating that aside from Gu Tingyuan, no male heirs remained in the family. Whichever of the three sisters could give birth to the most noble heir would inherit the entire Gu estate unconditionally.

Since she had miraculously survived, Gu Yining resolved to bury her former self. The girl known as Gu Yining had died that day; now, she was determined to live differently.

She would become the mistress of the Gu family and drive the others out. She would make them experience the depths of despair they had inflicted upon her.

...

After Gu Wenxuan's command rang out, several long, tense minutes passed without a single bodyguard daring to lay a hand on Gu Yining.

The reason was simple: they had already taken a beating before Gu Yining arrived.

Now, they lacked the courage.

This woman was ferocious.

In the past, they had been fooled by the seemingly weak third miss.

"Are you all deaf?" Gu Wenxuan shouted, her voice seething with rage.

The bodyguards exchanged uncertain glances and began to remove their badges, handing them over to Gu Wenxuan. "Second Miss, we're resigning. You can handle this yourself," one of them said, fear evident in their eyes.

With that, one by one, they bolted from the Gu villa as if they were being chased by demons.

Gu Yining folded her arms, silently observing Gu Wenxuan with a smirk. She beckoned with her finger, "If you have the guts, come over and throw me out. I promise I won't fight back."

"Xuanxuan, don't go!" Chen Huilan warned, trying to stop her daughter.

But Gu Wenxuan dismissed her mother with a wave of her hand. "Mom, she said she won't fight back. Just watch how I deal with this little brat. Just being around her makes me sick!"

Descending a few steps, Gu Wenxuan hastily approached Gu Yining, her expression twisted with disdain.

Gu Yining shot her a cold glance, then smoothly circled around her.

Before Gu Wenxuan could strike, she suddenly felt a sharp kick land solidly on her backside.

Not fighting back didn't mean she couldn't use her feet.

"Ah…"

A shriek pierced the night air as Gu Wenxuan was propelled headfirst into one of the open coffins behind her.

Her head struck the coffin lid, and she was knocked unconscious from the impact.

Gu Yining glanced at the now-comatose Gu Wenxuan inside the coffin and sighed dramatically, "One down!"

"Gu Yining, you crazy woman…" Chen Huilan yelled, her noble features crumpling in anger as she rushed forward.

Leaning against the coffin, Gu Yining blocked Chen Huilan's path. "Gu Wenxuan had me expelled from school and led the charge to rob my mother's grave. I can't let her off easily. She deserves to lie in that coffin for a while. Otherwise, how could I face my deceased mother? Don't you think?"

With a smirk, she flashed a proud smile that lit up her face.

"Ugly creature, get out of my way! What happened to Wenxuan? You'll pay for this!" Chen Huilan fumed, her voice filled with venom.

Although Chen Huilan hailed from a prestigious family, her acidic demeanor seemed innate, revealing none of the grace one might expect.

Gu Yining stepped closer, her eyes ablaze with fury. Suddenly, she gripped Chen Huilan's wrist tightly.

If there was someone who deserved her wrath more than Gu Wenxuan, it was Chen Huilan.

With incredible strength, Gu Yining pulled Chen Huilan forward. "Let go of me, you madwoman!" Chen Huilan shouted, struggling to break free.

"Oh? If you really think I'm insane, then let me go all out and personally send you on your way," Gu Yining sneered, her grip unyielding as she swung Chen Huilan toward the coffin, resolute in her intent to push her in.

Chen Huilan stumbled but quickly regained her balance, her eyes darting around for help. "Someone! Help me!" she called out, her voice trembling with fear and indignation.

But the guards had long since fled, leaving the women alone in the tense standoff, the darkness pressing in around them.

"Yining, you have no idea what you're doing!" Chen Huilan hissed, desperately trying to pull away, her composure faltering. "You think you can get away with this?"

"I'm not just going to get away with it; I'm going to take everything that belongs to me," Gu Yining replied, her voice low and fierce. "You all thought I was a joke, but I've learned the truth of this family. The weak are merely stepping stones for the strong."

She could feel the weight of her resolve building as she confronted the woman who had made her life miserable.

"Let go of me!" Chen Huilan demanded again, her voice laced with desperation.

With a swift movement, Gu Yining shoved Chen Huilan hard enough that she stumbled back, narrowly missing the edge of the coffin.

"Your turn will come, just like Wenxuan's," Gu Yining declared, stepping forward to intimidate her.

As the moonlight streamed through the windows, illuminating the scene, Gu Yining felt a sense of exhilaration coursing through her.

Finally, she was reclaiming her power, standing her ground against the very people who had tried to bury her spirit.

"Enough of this!" a voice boomed from behind them, cutting through the tension.

Gu Yining turned to see Gu Tingyuan striding into the room, fury etched across his face. "You think you can just waltz back into this family and create chaos? You're a disgrace!"

"Disgrace? You don't get to decide that anymore, Father," Gu Yining shot back, her heart pounding with a mix of fear and determination. "You may have tried to silence me, but no more! I've come back to claim what is rightfully mine, and I will not back down!"

The confrontation was escalating, and Gu Yining knew that she had to stand her ground, not just for herself but for her mother's memory and everything she had endured.

"You will pay for this insolence!" Gu Tingyuan threatened, stepping closer, his eyes blazing with anger.

Gu Yining met his gaze steadily. "Let them try, Father. You may have underestimated me before, but I will not allow anyone to walk all over me any longer. I will become the mistress of the Gu family!"

As the battle lines were drawn, the air thick with animosity and unresolved conflict, Gu Yining understood that this was just the beginning. She was ready to fight, to claim her rightful place, and to ensure that those who had tormented her would face the consequences of their actions.

With the coffins as her witnesses, she prepared to dismantle the old power structures of the Gu family, one confrontation at a time, until she emerged victorious. The stakes were higher than ever, and she was ready for the challenge.
