Chapter 58: Is This Grandpa Really Related?

Gu Yicing could see the love and concern for his grandson reflected in Grandpa Fu's eyes. At that moment, she felt a surge of profound purpose, a sacred mission that compelled her. It was not only for her own sake but also for Grandpa Fu; she wanted Fu Hanning to let go of his past and look forward to starting a family with her.

Throughout the journey, Gu Yicing and Grandpa Fu engaged in lively conversation, discussing everything from their lives to their dreams. The old man's face lit up with joy when he learned that she married Fu Hanning with the hope of having children, and even more so when he discovered she had medical knowledge.

"However, Grandpa," Gu Yicing sighed, "I've tried so hard, but Fu Hanning still refuses to consummate our marriage."

"What? You two haven't consummated your marriage yet? That's unacceptable!" Grandpa Fu's smile vanished, replaced by a serious demeanor.

"Yicing, how about I share a little secret with you? A method to help you conceive my little great-grandchild soon," he proposed with a twinkle in his eye.

Gu Yicing leaned in closer, curious. "Grandpa, please, go ahead."

"Since you're studying medicine, why not prepare some herbal tonics and slip them into Hanning's meals?" he suggested, a cheeky grin spreading across his face.

"Wait, are you suggesting I drug him?" Gu Yicing exclaimed, taken aback. Was this really her grandfather? His suggestion seemed overly bold.

"Mix in some ginseng soup and pair it with some nutritious foods like leeks and oysters… If you're shy about it, I can send someone to buy the herbs for you. Just make sure to add them to his food and drinks," Grandpa Fu mused, stroking his chin thoughtfully.

Wow! This grandpa was ruthless, and she liked it!

Gu Yicing's mouth curved into a beaming smile, her spirits lifted by the old man's support. With Grandpa Fu as her ally, she felt empowered to stand up to Fu Hanning.

"Grandpa, your methods are a bit too aggressive. I believe it's better for a child to be born into a loving family. I'll work hard to make him fall in love with me," she replied, her confidence shining through her eyes as she smiled brightly, almost radiating light.

Grandpa Fu scrutinized the birthmark on Gu Yicing's face, his mind racing with thoughts.

He had found his answer. The Fu family was renowned for its perfume and cosmetics business, among the best in the world. As the founder of the Fu Group, he recognized that the girl in front of him could easily pass for someone of beauty, but in his seasoned eyes, she was far from perfect.

The car arrived at the Fu family mansion and came to a stop.

Gu Yicing eagerly hopped out, ready to assist Grandpa Fu as he got out of the vehicle. "Grandpa, let me help you!"

However, Grandpa Fu shook his head. "I won't go in. Hanning has never welcomed me, and I don't want to interrupt you two. Just remember what I said."

With that, the car door closed, and the vehicle sped away.

At that moment, Fu Hanning's Maybach drove past, entering the courtyard just as Grandpa Fu's car left.

Gu Yicing rushed over to the door of Fu Hanning's car, waiting eagerly as he pulled up. As soon as the car stopped, she swung open the door for him, playing the role of a dutiful attendant.

Fu Hanning cast her a sidelong glance as he emerged from the vehicle, his tall figure emanating an icy aura.

"Thank you today, my husband!" Gu Yicing called out sweetly, her voice dripping with charm.

If it weren't for him publicly acknowledging her status as Mrs. Fu, the faces of the Gu family would have been even more dismal.

Furthermore, after her conversation with Grandpa Fu, she understood what she needed to do.

To win Fu Hanning's heart, she had to set aside her pride and not confront him head-on with arrogance.

Fu Hanning shrugged off her hand as he climbed the steps. "I'm not helping you; I just don't want anyone to think of me as a fat pig in my fifties or sixties."

With that, the tension between them hung thick in the air, a mix of playful banter and underlying emotions that hinted at the complexities of their relationship.
