Chapter 29: Surface Warmth

"I know," Joey said, "that's why I'm going to your company. I can do anything for you, my lord."

Anna rolled her eyes very inelegantly, "Where did you learn those cheesy words? Stop it!"

So Joey replied, as if not allowing him to say slutty words completely ruined his passion.

Anna, amused by such a boy, chuckled, "Don't be like that. It's too late. Go find a clean room to sleep in."

Anna pushed the boy out, "Good night."

Joey stared out the door and pouted uneasily, "Shouldn't she have asked me if I'd be her dancer? Why hasn't she offered me a job instead of some contract for me to sign?"

Anna's actions confused Joey. He was a boy who had been through numerous trials and tribulations. Many times he knew there were risks, but he was certainly willing to try things as long as he could resist.

His roommate was too stupid to look at him when he spoke. How could he be fooled? So he had to reluctantly go along with it, and it turned out to be a bargaining chip.
