Chapter 2 The Path Is Different

The next day, inside the ninja school...

Tobirama took Dave's hand and slowly walked into the teacher's room. After a long conversation between father and son, they finally opened their hearts and became close.

Seriously? I'm only five years old! How could I stay up all night talking nonsense with you? Who on earth could handle that???

Tobirama had also decided to take his son to school. After all, Dave was now five years old and just beginning to focus on Chakra.

"This is a new student in our class, my son, Senju Dave. Let's all welcome him," Tobirama said as he and Dave looked at the students. In turn, the students looked back at Dave.

Tobirama's words had quite an effect. Lord Tobirama's son? The thirty-eight students in the class exclaimed. After all, Dave and Tobirama really did resemble each other.

Come on, don't compare our Dave to that guy from Plants vs. Zombies who wears a metal pot on his head, has hairy arms, goofy cross-eyes, and speaks gibberish.

In this life, Dave had the same white hair and red eyes as Tobirama. But unlike Tobirama, who exuded a cold arrogance, Dave always smiled warmly, like the spring sunshine.

"Hello, everyone. My name is Senju Dave. I'm five years old. I hate iron pots and talking cars. I like growing vegetables. Do you have a dream? Mine is to have a vegetable garden where plants and zombies fight for me," Dave introduced himself.

The students were puzzled. They hadn't quite realized that their teacher was the younger brother of the First Hokage, and that he probably wasn't even married yet. So, how was it possible that he had a son their age?

"You can sit next to Hiruzen," Tobirama said, showing a rare gentle expression as he pointed to a seat. For the rest of the time, even when he spoke to his brother, he remained his usual cold self.

"Yeah," Dave replied, suppressing his excitement as he walked towards the seat. He knew exactly who Hiruzen was—the future Third Hokage! A powerful figure!

"Hello, my name is Senju Dave."

"Hello, my name is Sarutobi Hiruzen," the two introduced themselves, then sat down to listen to the class.

Dave found the lecture just as boring as those in his previous life. He was almost asleep. If it weren't for his strict father standing there lecturing, he would have already dozed off.

Finally, the morning passed.

"Okay, that's the end of this morning's class," Tobirama said coldly as he closed the book.

"We'll skip the afternoon lesson. I have some things to attend to. Dismissed," Tobirama added. He stood motionless at the front of the room, his eyes lingering on his son.

But something felt off to Tobirama. Normally, when he dismissed the class, the students would run out of the room, cheering. Today, however, they were eerily quiet.

Students: No way—we're just waiting for you to leave before we go crazy. Why are you still standing there today?

Tobirama was waiting for Dave. After all, he was both the teacher of this class and Dave's father. Why wait outside the door like an ordinary parent?

Dave blushed under Tobirama's gaze. It wasn't just his father staring—his classmates were watching too.

Unable to bear the pressure any longer, Dave stood up, said goodbye to Hiruzen, and walked over to his father. Tobirama nodded approvingly, taking Dave's hand and walking out of the classroom.

The teacher's finally gone—time to celebrate! Tobirama heard the distant noise of students cheering as they left.

Today was destined to be eventful.

Uchiha Clan

"Father, I'm back."

"Oh, Kagami. Anything interesting happen at school today?"

"Yes, we have a new classmate. He's our teacher's son."

"Tobirama's child??... Well, whatever the case, Kagami, make sure to get along with him, understood?"

"Yes, Father."

Nara Clan

"Father, I'm home."

"...Troublesome. What do you want to eat?"

"Anything's fine. By the way, there's a new student in our class. He's the teacher's son."

"Lord Tobirama's son? ... Ugh, that's more trouble. Whatever happens, make sure you stay on good terms with him, Kayama."

"...Troublesome, I got it."

The children in the class all went home and talked about Dave. Without exception, they were told to get along with him, much to their exasperation.

Inside the Senju Mansion

"Hello, Aunt Mito. Hello, Uncle Hashirama," Dave greeted the two respectfully. Wow, their presence is overwhelming!

"Well, if it isn't Tobirama's son. Hmm, you really do look like him." Mito smiled warmly, lifting Dave's face with motherly affection.

"Tch, that brat Tobirama..." Hashirama muttered from the side. "Ignore him, Dave. Your father has some things to do this afternoon. Why don't you train with me instead?"

Of course, Hashirama knew where Tobirama was going, but he didn't care much. If it had been him, he would have simply thrown out a giant Buddha and called it a day. Though Hashirama seemed carefree, he wasn't as simple as people thought. If needed, he could be quite formidable.

"Come on, Dave," Hashirama said, taking Dave's hand and leading him to the training ground behind the mansion.

"Dave, I noticed yesterday that your Wood Style seems a little different from mine," Hashirama observed, looking at Dave curiously.

"Uncle Hashirama, I can summon four plants, but I have a feeling that the more chakra I have, the more plants I can summon," Dave said, repeating the explanation he had already thought through.

"Oh? Summon them and show me," Hashirama replied, intrigued.

Hashirama soon relaxed, though. After all, they were the only ones in the entire ninja world who could use Wood Style, so it was entirely possible that Dave's technique would differ from his own.
