Chapter 8 Just Lost The Fight

"What do you mean... let Dave get engaged to his daughter?" The second elder felt conflicted. He was already fifty and had finally had a daughter and a son. Why was his daughter being taken so quickly?

And he didn't dare to disagree.

The clan leader had personally come to arrange the match.

Who could refuse that?

And that child was Tobirama's son.

If nothing else happened, Tobirama would likely become either the Second or Third Hokage.

After all, Madara could also become the Second Hokage.

So, if he thought about it, it wasn't a bad thing. And judging from the looks his daughter and that boy exchanged, something seemed to be happening between them.

Dave was confused. He only wanted to show Uncle Madara that he didn't hate the Uchiha clan like his father did. Wasn't he just looking for a diplomatic way to say it? How did he end up getting engaged??

And looking at Yuemei's shy expression, Dave felt even worse. Sister, we've only known each other for a day. Is it normal for you to be acting like this?

Though the two of us hit it off pretty quickly, is this really the endgame?

"Well, how is it?" Uchiha Madara asked coldly. It sounded like a question, but looking at Madara's face, the second elder knew that if he said no, he might not survive the night...

"Okay, okay, I think Dave is a good kid, and my daughter seems to like him. So, we've made the arrangement! They'll get married when they turn sixteen!" the second elder said quickly.

Hearing her father's words, Yuemei's face turned so red it looked like steam might come out.

She knew her future. She wasn't stupid.

For a woman from a big family, the best outcome was marriage.

Besides, it was Dave—the boy who had been so nice to her today.

Yuemei liked him, too, and had no objections.

Although it felt a little rushed, it seemed to her that Dave felt the same way, most likely pulled along by the clan leader...

But there was still time. They could take their time and get to know each other better.

When Dave finally left the Uchiha territory, he was still in a daze.

"I have a fiancée at this age... this... this damn capitalism! I... I love it! Hahaha!"

After Madara showed him around the village, he sent Dave back to the Senju station and left.

Senju Station

"What were you and that bastard Madara up to today?" Tobirama asked with an expressionless face.

"Uh... well... you know..." Dave swallowed and recounted the day's events.

"Go to bed. We've got class tomorrow," Tobirama said, keeping his face neutral.

"Right."

The Next Day

"Uh... Father... you??? Who did you fight with??" Dave stared at his father's bruised face, swallowing nervously.

"It's nothing. I'll take you to school. I won't be teaching today. Hiruzen's father, Sarutobi Sasuke, will cover for me."

Of course, Tobirama couldn't admit that he'd gone to the Uchiha clan to fight Madara and ended up getting beaten.

He could only answer lightly about the scuffle.

"Oh... okay..."

---

"Brother!! You have to make that damn Madara give me an explanation!! Dave is only five years old, and he's engaged to that Uchiha girl!!" Tobirama yelled at Hashirama as soon as he appeared at his house, having flown in with Flying Thunder God.

"Well... isn't that good? I think Dave and the girl like each other, and it would be great for our Senju clan and the Uchiha clan to get closer," Hashirama said after a pause.

At the same time, Hashirama felt a twinge of envy in his heart.

What a great kid Dave was.

Not only was he not opposed to arranged marriages, but he got along well with the girl in just one day.

Hashirama felt even more depressed thinking about his own unlucky son, Kima, who hadn't visited in five or six years.

"Um, Tobirama... your face... you didn't go fight Madara yesterday, did you?" Hashirama asked, noticing Tobirama's swollen face, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

"Of course I did, and I lost! That bastard! Wait until I've mastered Flying Thunder God... then he won't be able to touch a hair on my head! But you need to go talk to the Uchiha clan! I'm opposed to this marriage!"

At the Ninja Academy

"Hey, morning, Yuemei!" Dave greeted Yuemei with a smile, taking her small hand in his.

"Good morning, Dave..." Yuemei responded shyly, her face flushed.

Although the two were engaged... it all felt too soon... Ah, so embarrassing...

"Damn! Dave is so cool!!" Hiruzen thought, looking at Dave with starry eyes, shouting in his heart, "Big brother, teach me!!"

"Hmph, what's so great about that?" Danzo said with disdain. "I heard from my father last night that Dave was taken by the Uchiha clan chief and engaged to Yuemei.

It seems they've been involved for a while.

What's so impressive? Dave should focus on how to protect Konoha in the future."

As a potential candidate for the next Shimura clan leader, Danzo was always updated on the important events in the village by his father.

The engagement between the Uchiha and Senju clans had already reached every clan head in Konoha.

He knew Dave possessed the same Wood Style as the First Hokage and would undoubtedly be strong in the future.

But instead of focusing on his talent, Dave was spending time on a girl! How irresponsible! How would Konoha be protected like this?!!

Danzo glanced at Hiruzen with disdain. This guy had been caught peeping at the women's bathhouse two days ago. He was no better than Dave!

Hmph. It looks like the responsibility for protecting Konoha will fall on me in the future!

"Man, that's awesome... why isn't anyone getting engaged to me?" Hiruzen muttered, dejected.

Of course, he knew about Dave's engagement... but he was envious!! Why didn't anyone want to get engaged to him, the future heir of the Sarutobi clan?!

Danzo glanced at Hiruzen's pathetic face and wanted to tell him to look in the mirror. If he compared himself to Dave, he'd know why... But Danzo didn't want to hurt his friend's feelings, so he remained silent.
