They sat in the lab, surrounded by a silence that seemed too strange after the nightmares they'd had in the game. Each of them was lost in their own thoughts, trying to make sense of what had happened."
Anya first checked the interface of the neuro helmet. All systems were shut down, and there was no sign of activity. It felt like the game was over, but a sense of unnatural wariness wouldn't let her go.
— Are we really out?" Lisa asked softly, her voice trembling as if she still didn't believe in the reality of what was happening.
"Outwardly, everything seems normal," Dima replied, studying the room. — But it's too easy." We have no guarantees that this is the real world.
Max slowly got to his feet and walked around the room. He touched the wall, felt the coolness of the metal and the real texture of the metal surface.
"Reality or not," he said with a deep sigh, " we can't stay here and wait for something to happen. We need to find out where we are.
Anya glanced at Max, then at Lisa and Dima. They all looked exhausted, but not broken. The fire of determination still burned in their eyes. They'd been through this hell together, and now she had to figure out what to do next.
"We're in a lab," Anya said, studying the space. — If this is real, then there must be ways out." Surveillance cameras, computers... something to let us know what's going on.
They began to explore the room. The lab was sterile, white, and featureless. There were several screens on the walls, but they were all turned off. There were no windows or doors, which looked strange and sinister.
"It looks like some kind of experimental center," Dima said, inspecting the equipment. "This may be the place where we were connected to the game."
— If that's the case, where is everyone?" Lisa asked, looking around nervously. — There must be someone here who was watching all this."
"Maybe they just left us," Max said. "Or they're watching us right now."
Anya went to one of the screens and tried to turn it on. The screen lit up, and strange symbols flashed before her eyes — the same ones they had seen in the game. She froze.
— This can't be a coincidence, " she whispered to herself.
The screen suddenly started flashing and a message appeared on it:
**"Welcome back to reality. Or perhaps it's just another level?"**
"What the —" Max whirled to Ana when he saw the message. Everyone immediately came closer, their hearts beating faster again.
"It's a trap," Lisa whispered, clenching her fists. — We're still in the game." We'll never get out."
"No," Anya said firmly, though her voice was a little shaky. — We're out of here. This is just another way of manipulating.
— But if it's not a game, why is it a message?" Dima asked, his eyes darting over the symbols on the screen. "Maybe we just went back to another level of the simulation."
Anya took a deep breath. She understood that their minds might still be affected by the game. Perhaps it was a test to finally break them or convince them that there was no way out."
— We can't let him play with us,"she said firmly. — Even if it's another level, we have to act like it's the real world." We need to find a way to get out of here physically."
Max walked over to the screen and slapped it with his palm, shutting it off. The screen went blank.
"It doesn't matter where we are," he said. — We won't stop." We're already too close to the exit."
At that moment, a muffled hum was heard from behind the wall, as if machinery had been activated somewhere. Everyone turned in the direction of the sound of the explosion.
— What was that?" Lisa asked, stepping back.
"Maybe it's a signal that we've been spotted," Dima suggested, his face contorted with alarm.
Anya listened intently, trying to figure out what that sound was. It was continuous, but not loud, as if there was a process going on somewhere nearby that they couldn't see.
"Maybe it's a system reaction," she said. — We disabled one of the terminals, and now something started happening. We need to move fast."
— Where to?" There are no doors, " Max said, looking around. — How do we get out?"
"If this is an experimental center, there must be an emergency exit," Dima suggested. — Such facilities are always equipped with evacuation systems.
Anya ran to another terminal and tried to activate it. She quickly typed a few commands, hoping to gain access to the internal security system. Diagrams of the laboratory\appeared on the screen.
"Here," she said, pointing to the map. — There's a technical tunnel in the corner." This is our chance to get out."
"A tunnel?" Lisa squinted, trying to make out the map. — Are you sure this isn't just another trap?"
"We don't have a choice," Anya said. — If we stay here, we may never know where we really are."
Max looked at the others, then nodded.
"Then let's go."
They headed for the corner of the lab where the map showed the emergency exit. The wall, at first glance, looked completely intact, but Anya pressed the control panel, and a small hatch opened in front of them, leading down into a metal tunnel.
"Here it is," she said, smiling slightly at him. "It looks like we really are in reality."
Max started down the stairs first, followed by Lisa and Dima. Anya brought up the rear of the group. Once they were in the tunnel, the hatch closed behind them, leaving them in total darkness.
"Go ahead," Max said, his voice echoing down the narrow hallway. — We won't stop until we find a way out."
They moved through the tunnel, and in their hearts smouldered the hope that ahead of them lies not another level of the game, but real freedom.
