HAPPY BIRTHDAY NADIA II

"You overstayed by ten minutes," Xander who was resting on a car, whilst smoking with his good hand said on sighting Nadia.

"I'm sorry. The meeting took longer than expected. Is the coast clear?" She asked him, as her eyes darted around.

"You're in luck. The elevator door is stuck, and he's in it. Everyone is focused on trying to fix that."

"Shouldn't you be supervising that?" She eyed him closely.

"I've fucked with him once in the last twenty-four hours. If he sniffs my lies out twice again, he won't be nice with the aftermath."

"He's supposed to be your best friend," Nadia said with disgust heavy in her voice.

"Our world doesn't work that way, and you know it. Especially for him. He's big on loyalty."

"Tell me about it," she said sarcastically.

Xander reached out a hand, and stroked a portion of her hair gently.

"I'm sorry you have to be treated this way. You know I've never approved of it."
