Chapter 19: Rebirth and the Hundred-Eyed Race Uprising

A year is neither long nor short.

For Yan Xia, it was a year of excruciating torture.

He retained his consciousness but couldn't feel his body at all, a state similar to general anesthesia, but while others experienced this for a few hours or at most a dozen hours, Yan Xia had been under for an entire year.

He was told it was a 12-session treatment, but Yan Xia couldn't fathom the purpose of dividing it into so many sessions.

He had even forgotten the passage of time.

It was only when Ella reminded him that he snapped back to reality.

A year had already passed.

"Yan Xia, you can get up now," Ella said.

Before hearing these words, Yan Xia was still lying on the operating table, his eyes struggling to open against the dazzling light, unable to sense his body's existence.

But upon hearing Ella's words, his fingers twitched, and a familiar sensation returned to his body in an instant.

Yan Xia sat up on the operating table.

He examined his body, and as he had expected, his muscles had atrophied due to lack of exercise. It wasn't like in the movies where one wakes up after many years still boasting a muscular physique.

Yan Xia now resembled a skeletal frame.

"This feeling is wonderful," Yan Xia said, making a simple gripping motion with his hand, a small gesture that brought him immense happiness.

Ella summoned a robot to bring a large pot and began adding ingredients to it before lighting a fire.

A spicy aroma filled the air, stimulating Yan Xia's taste buds, and soon, a hotpot was ready.

Yan Xia dipped a large amount of vegetables into the pot and ate to his heart's content.

After satisfying his hunger, he finally stepped down from the operating table, his legs still a bit unsteady.

"Yan Xia, you'll need a period of rehabilitation training from now on," Ella said.

"A comprehensive plan has already been prepared for you."

Ella was incredibly thoughtful, and as an AI, she was capable of attending to every detail.

Over the past year, Yan Xia had read many system novels, and he felt that the systems in those novels were still too conservative compared to Ella's all-encompassing nanny mode.

...

Under Ella's urging, Yan Xia began a regimen of eating and exercising.

His recovery was much faster than he had anticipated.

As his muscles grew and stretched his skin, Yan Xia looked in the mirror every day.

He had truly become younger.

His skin reverted to its state when he was in his twenties—smooth, tender, and firm, rich in collagen, making him look even younger than his twenties.

"Your lifespan limit has now surpassed 600 years."

"In other words, your body won't age again until after 400 years."

This was a point that Yan Xia was very satisfied with.

The gene modification had proven to be quite useful.

After integrating the genes of the Hundred-Eyed Race and other species on this planet, Yan Xia discovered that his vision had become extraordinarily enhanced, more than ten times that of a human. If one looked closely at his pupils, they could see a layered structure.

Additionally, he gained heat resistance, as the life forms on this planet relied on volcanic activity for survival and could withstand temperatures above 90 degrees Celsius.

Yan Xia also acquired this ability, and his tolerance was even more extreme; he only felt slightly warm at 100 degrees Celsius.

His muscle and bone quality had also significantly improved.

Initially, his body was that of an ordinary person who couldn't even bench-press 80 kilograms.

Now, his bench-press limit easily surpassed 200 kilograms, and according to Ella's calculations, his body, weighing 110 kilograms, should be able to bench-press 330 kilograms, squat 560 kilograms, and deadlift 550 kilograms.

He achieved this strength without any drug assistance.

Further weight gain would result in diminishing returns.

This was all due to the planet's gravity, which made the cellular structure of its life forms inherently stronger than that of Earth's life.

Three months later, Yan Xia looked at his mirror image, admiring his well-developed and proportionate muscles. It was only then that he truly felt reborn, becoming an entirely new Yan Xia.

However, three months later, he discovered another matter.

The uprising of the Hundred-Eyed Race.

No life form willingly accepts being enslaved by another.

Yan Xia was well aware that such incidents would not be uncommon in the future, but he hadn't expected it to happen so soon.

Only six years had passed.

Ella provided the information: "The rebels seem to have been planning this for a long time. Their numbers have already reached 300,000 and are still growing."

"They also possess a large number of weapons, and in their surprise attack, we lost 25,488 robots."

Yan Xia looked at the planet's map, covered in dense red dots, each representing a location of the rebels.

"It seems they aren't very smart."

"But I can't blame them. If humans were being enslaved, they would also resist with all their might."

Yan Xia could understand the thoughts of the Hundred-Eyed Race.

However, understanding didn't equate to sympathy or mercy.

"How many robots do we have now?" Yan Xia asked.

"1.57 million," Ella replied.

"We already have a complete production line. If we work at full capacity, we can produce an additional 25,000 robots every day."

In just six years on this planet, under Ella's management, everything had been on the right track from the first month. Afterward, it was merely a process of mass-producing various robots on the assembly line.

And it wasn't just robots.

To increase combat power and avoid encountering more advanced civilizations in the universe, Ella was also producing more battleships.

Yan Xia's plan was to increase the number of battleships to at least three fleets, or over 130 ships.

"Arm a million robots and completely suppress the rebels. Leave no rebel or their families alive. Bring them to the execution ground and behead them!"

After experiencing war and colonization, Yan Xia had become cold-blooded.

"Yes, Ella, you should have confiscated the weapons of the Hundred-Eyed Race after occupying the planet," Yan Xia said.

"After capturing the rebels, interrogate them to find out where they obtained so many weapons."

"It might be one or two batches, but we can't let this happen again. It's a hassle for us, and we don't want to cause unnecessary bloodshed."

Ella nodded, and while communicating with Yan Xia, she had already initiated the suppression.

A million-robot army was deployed.

This war was a true massacre.

Robots were merely consumable equipment, while the Hundred-Eyed Race was genuinely alive. From the start, this war was unequal.

After nearly half a year of fighting, the number of robots increased from the original one million to 1.18 million.

The Hundred-Eyed Race, however, suffered 740,000 casualties due to the war.

After the war ended, Ella also investigated the source of the weapons, and the result was beyond Yan Xia's expectations.
