Chapter 214- I’m quite happy

As soon as Cynthia hung up, Bonnie looked at her with guilt written all over her face.

"Cynthia, I'm sorry… Should I not have asked you to come back?"

Cynthia shook her head lightly.

"Bonnie, don't apologize. This was my choice, wasn't it? I chose to come back. From the moment he found me in Australia and stood before me, I knew… I couldn't run anymore."

She let out a bitter laugh and continued,

"I'm starting to believe that maybe this is my fate. Maybe he is my calamity. Look at me—I ran for four years, but in the end, I still ended up right back here."

By the time she finished speaking, she was already chuckling at herself in self-mockery. Wasn't that the truth? For four years, she had deliberately cut herself off from everything here, but in the end, she couldn't escape.

All it took was one overwhelming piece of news—Albert, gravely injured and on the brink of death.
