Chapter 294: The Black Emperor Sect, Encounter with Qing Lin Again
"A sixth-tier soul-type magic core?"
Hearing this, Mo Yu was momentarily stunned but soon his face lit up with joy. "Oh? Where did this information come from?"
In Mo Yu's mind, he had never forgotten the task of refining the Soul Merging Chalice. After all, it was a crucial step to help the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python fully merge with its soul. Once this was achieved, not only would Mo Yu fulfill his promise, but he would also gain a powerful Dou Zong ally.
A fully merged Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python was far stronger than just the remaining soul of the Snake King. Once she gained control over her own body, even a Dou Zong of the caliber of Su Qian, the Grand Elder of the Inner Academy, admitted he wouldn't be her match. This alone was proof of her immense power.
So even if the Black Alliance managed to recruit the Eagle Mountain Elder, Mo Yu's Yuan Mansion would still hold the upper hand.
Although most of the materials for the Soul Merging Chalice had been gathered, the most critical component, the sixth-tier soul-type magic core, had always been elusive.
Thus, aside from solidifying control over Mo City and the former territory of the Earth Flame Sect, Mo Yu had ordered his people to keep an ear out for any news about a sixth-tier soul-type magic core.
What he didn't expect was for news to come so quickly.
Seeing Mo Yu's delighted expression, Xiao Li smiled and said, "There is indeed information about a sixth-tier soul-type magic core, but it's not within our territory. It's in someone else's hands, and acquiring it may not be easy. You might have to go in person, Mo Yu."
Hearing this, Mo Yu raised an eyebrow. Since defeating the Black Alliance, Yuan Mansion had become one of the dominant forces in the Black-Corner Region, if not the strongest. Many factions would now give them face, and though a sixth-tier soul-type magic core was rare, Yuan Mansion could certainly afford it.
For Xiao Li to suggest that Mo Yu needed to go personally sparked his curiosity. What kind of force in the Black-Corner Region would require his direct involvement?
"Whose hands is the magic core in?" Mo Yu asked, intrigued.
"It's with Qi Shan, the chief alchemist of the Black Emperor Sect."
"The Black Emperor Sect? Qi Shan?"
Hearing these names, Mo Yu was taken aback, and his brow furrowed slightly. He wasn't unfamiliar with these names. From the memories of the original story, the Black Emperor Sect was a powerful hidden force in the Black-Corner Region. Qi Shan, their chief alchemist, was not to be underestimated, a sixth-tier alchemist on par with Han Feng.
Mo Yu hadn't expected to cross paths with the Black Emperor Sect so soon.
Stroking his chin, Mo Yu said, "I'm determined to get that sixth-tier soul-type magic core. If that's the case, I'll go to Black Emperor City myself."
As soon as he said that, the Yao Brothers exchanged glances. The eldest, Yao Da, stepped forward and said respectfully, "Master, we have just joined Yuan Mansion and have yet to prove our loyalty. Let us accompany you on this trip."
Xiao Li nodded and added with a smile, "That sounds like a good idea. Since you are now the head of Yuan Mansion, Mo Yu, your appearance represents us. It would be proper to show a little prestige. The Yao Brothers are strong, and you can have them handle things for you on the way."
Mo Yu thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement. Xiao Li was right; when dealing with the Black Emperor Sect, Mo Yu couldn't handle everything personally, or it might be seen as a sign of weakness.
After making arrangements, Mo Yu and the Yao Brothers swiftly left Mo City, heading towards Black Emperor City as indicated on their map.
The Yao Brothers were well-acquainted with the Black-Corner Region's terrain, having lived in hiding for more than a decade due to their conflict with the Gold and Silver Elders. Thanks to their guidance, the group made rapid progress, and after about a day of traveling, they finally neared the location of Black Emperor City.
As the day neared dusk, the outline of a massive city appeared in the distance, hidden behind the shadows of towering trees.
Standing on a slope, Mo Yu gazed at the distant, towering city walls and couldn't help but be impressed.
True to its name, Black Emperor City was grand and majestic. The black stone walls stretched as far as the eye could see, emanating a cold, forbidding aura. Under the sunlight, the walls gleamed like a mirror, reflecting a faint glow.
"Black Mirror Stone? The Black Emperor Sect really spares no expense," Mo Yu muttered.
He noticed that the city walls were covered with the rare Black Mirror Stone, a material known for its ability to reflect attacks. Using it to construct city walls was indeed a brilliant choice. Though scarce on the continent, the Black Emperor Sect had used it to cover an entire city wall, a testament to their immense wealth and resources—far beyond that of the newly risen Yuan Mansion.
"Master, the Black Emperor Sect has stood strong in the Black-Corner Region for decades. Its leader, Mo Tianxing, is a powerful Dou Zong, and his reputation is widely known. However, the Black Emperor Sect is mainly a commercial faction, and their auctions are famous across the region, even the continent. The sect's policy is to prioritize peaceful relations. Now that Yuan Mansion has gained prominence after defeating the Black Alliance, I'm sure they will give us some face," Yao Da said respectfully.
Hearing this, Mo Yu nodded. Based on the original story, the sect leader, Mo Tianxing, was indeed a prudent man who knew when to advance or retreat. Moreover, with the Fire Puppet by his side, Mo Yu was confident he could handle the situation, even if the negotiations failed.
"Let's go," Mo Yu said, waving his hand to the Yao Brothers before heading towards the city gates.
The Yao Brothers followed closely behind, and their arrival, as newcomers, quickly attracted the attention of many onlookers.
The Yao Brothers, noticing the prying gazes, glanced coldly at the passersby, causing those around them to feel an overwhelming sense of danger and quickly avert their eyes.
Having roamed the Black-Corner Region for years, the Yao Brothers were familiar with the thoughts of these people—greedy eyes sizing up Mo Yu's group, hoping for an opportunity to strike. But they had no idea that this seemingly ordinary young man was none other than the master of the rapidly rising Yuan Mansion.
As Mo Yu and his group walked away, the cold tension in the street began to dissipate. Many of those who had been eyeing them suspiciously wiped the sweat from their brows, realizing that the men following Mo Yu were Dou Wang-level experts. Whoever the young man leading them was, he must have been someone of incredible power and influence.
They were lucky they hadn't dared to act on their greed, or they would have paid with their lives.
Ignoring the fearful stares around them, Mo Yu and his group reached the city gate and headed for the violet gate, a special entrance reserved for renowned experts of the Black-Corner Region.
At the gate stood over a dozen men in yellow battle robes. The powerful auras radiating from them kept the crowd at bay, forcing the ordinary folk to line up and wait in silence.
Mo Yu and his group were clearly heading towards the violet gate, and the sight of this made the onlookers curious. That entrance was only open to Dou Huang-level experts. Could this seemingly young man be such a powerful figure?
As they approached, the guards' sharp eyes fixed on them, but before they could say anything, an elderly man with a pipe stepped forward, his eyes scrutinizing Mo Yu and his group as he spoke with a smile.
"Gentlemen, this gate is reserved for Dou Huang-level experts. If you do not meet the requirement, I'm afraid you'll need to use another entrance."
Mo Yu glanced at the elder and said playfully, "With your strength, not even at the level of a five-star Dou Wang, how can you determine whether someone is a Dou Huang?"
The elder's eyes narrowed slightly, but before he could respond, his gaze shifted to the Yao Brothers behind Mo Yu. Recognizing them, a look of surprise crossed his face.
"The Yao Brothers? Weren't you three being hunted by the Gold and Silver Elders? What brings you to Black Emperor City now?"
The Yao Brothers were well-known in the Black-Corner Region as Dou Wangs, so the elder had no trouble identifying them.
"Bah! The Gold and Silver Elders are just a pair of relentless dogs. Now that we've joined Yuan Mansion, we're no longer afraid of them," Yao Da said bitterly.
"Oh? You've joined Yuan Mansion?" The elder's expression changed, recalling the recent news of Yuan Mansion's victory over the Black Alliance.
With a flicker of understanding, the elder's sharp eyes landed on Mo Yu's distinctive silver gaze. "Could this be… the master of Yuan Mansion, Mo Yu?"
"Hmm," Mo Yu nodded casually. "Can we enter now?"
"Of course, of course!" The elder quickly nodded, realizing he was dealing with a significant figure. "Please, take this token. Black Emperor City is quite full at the moment, but we have reserved accommodations for prominent figures of the Black-Corner Region at the Black Emperor Pavilion. If you present this token there, they will arrange a place for you."
Yao Da quickly took the token and smiled at the elder before leading the group into the violet gate.
As Mo Yu disappeared into the city, the elder squinted his eyes and quietly instructed one of his attendants, "Hurry and inform the Sect Master that we have a distinguished guest…"
Meanwhile, Mo Yu and his companions arrived at the Black Emperor Pavilion. The area bustled with people, all of whom radiated strong auras.
"No wonder this place is reserved for the strong," Mo Yu thought as he observed the crowd. In just a short walk, he sensed two Dou Huang and seven Dou Wang experts among them.
As they neared the entrance, an elder in a blue robe stood smiling, greeting those who entered. His presence seemed to command respect, as all who passed by offered him polite greetings before proceeding inside.
Just as Mo Yu's group approached, the blue-robed elder came over with a friendly smile. "Greetings, gentlemen. This area is reserved for esteemed guests of the Black Emperor Sect. Do you have a token?"
Mo Yu noticed that the elder was a six- or seven-star Dou Huang. In the Black-Corner Region, that level of strength made him a well-known figure.
Yao Da quickly handed over the token they had received at the city gate.
After inspecting the token, the elder was about to speak when one of his attendants rushed over and whispered something in his ear. The elder's eyes widened in surprise as he glanced at Mo Yu. Moments later, he waved the attendant away and smiled warmly.
"I didn't expect the master of Yuan Mansion himself to visit. This is quite an honor. I am Elder Che Cheng of the Black Emperor Sect. May I ask what brings you here, Master Mo?"
Mo Yu smiled calmly. "I need a favor from your chief alchemist."
"Ah, you're here to see Elder Qi Shan?" Che Cheng's eyes flickered, but his expression remained composed.
"Yes, is he currently in Black Emperor City?" Mo Yu asked, smiling.
"He is, but Elder Qi is currently busy refining pills. It may take a couple of days before he's available," Che Cheng said, his eyes studying Mo Yu carefully.
"No problem. I can wait a couple of days," Mo Yu replied calmly.
Che Cheng smiled and gestured toward the entrance. "We are honored by your visit. Please make yourself at home in the Black Emperor Pavilion. Once Elder Qi Shan is available, we will make the necessary arrangements."
Mo Yu nodded, leading his group inside. Just as they stepped in, a voice suddenly called out from behind.
"The Young Lord of the Heavenly Snake Mansion has arrived!"
The sudden announcement caused a stir, and many onlookers stopped in their tracks, turning toward the source of the commotion.
At the front of the crowd was a tall, elegant woman dressed in a pale green gown.
Her figure was curvaceous and mature, exuding a captivating allure. Her body was perfect—where it should be full, it was full; where it should be slender, it was slender.
Seeing the familiar figure, Mo Yu froze for a moment. His lips moved slightly as he softly murmured, "Qing Lin…"
