My allies
Sam's POV
I paced the polished marble floor of Mr. Hayes' private office, my mind a whirlwind of thoughts. The stakes had never been higher, and time was slipping through my fingers like grains of sand. The tall windows overlooked the bustling city, but my focus was fixed on the man seated behind the grand oak desk Mr. Hayes, the head of the Asher shareholders. His sharp eyes followed my movements, his expression unreadable.
"You wanted to meet, Sam?" His deep, authoritative voice cut through the silence, snapping me back to the moment.
"Yes," I said, taking a seat across from him. "I need your help."
Mr. Hayes leaned back in his chair, folding his hands over his chest. "Help? That's a strong word coming from someone who's been making headlines lately. The DNA scandal, the manipulated results… The shareholders are restless, Sam. What's going on?"
