The chaos inside the supply hub erupted around them, alarms blaring as red lights flooded the corridors with an ominous glow. Seo-Jin's heart raced as he led his team deeper into the labyrinth of crates and machinery, the sounds of their footsteps mingling with the shouts of the guards behind them.
"Stay focused!" Seo-Jin barked, trying to keep his team in line. "We need to reach the main storage area before they regroup!"
They moved swiftly, ducking behind crates and slipping through narrow passages. Each corner they turned brought them closer to their objective, but the air was thick with tension. Seo-Jin could feel the pressure building, the reality of their situation weighing heavily on him.
As they approached the main storage area, the unmistakable sounds of combat echoed through the halls. Min-Jae's diversion had turned into a full-blown fight. "We need to help them!" Hae-Rin shouted, her eyes wide with concern.
"No! We have to stick to the plan!" Seo-Jin insisted, gritting his teeth. "We'll only get in the way. We have to secure the supplies first."
Just as they reached a large steel door marked "Authorized Personnel Only," Seo-Jin heard a voice behind him—a familiar voice that sent chills down his spine.
"Seo-Jin, is that you?"
He turned, his stomach dropping at the sight of Jae-Min, a former friend turned rival, flanked by two armed guards. Jae-Min wore a smug grin, his eyes gleaming with malice. "How quaint. You thought you could take us down without consequences?"
"Get out of our way, Jae-Min!" Seo-Jin shouted, clenching his fists. Memories of their past flashed through his mind—training together, laughing, but that was a lifetime ago. The man before him was a shadow of the friend he once knew.
"Oh, but I can't let you do that," Jae-Min said, stepping forward. "The Iron Fist has big plans, and you're not part of them. Surrender now, and I might spare your pathetic little crew."
Seo-Jin's heart raced, his instincts screaming at him. "We're not afraid of you!" he yelled, a surge of power coursing through him. The air around him crackled with energy, and he could feel the tension rising.
"Then let's see what you've got," Jae-Min taunted, raising his hand. "Guards, take them down!"
The guards moved swiftly, but Seo-Jin was quicker. With a wave of his hand, he unleashed a shockwave that sent one guard crashing into the wall, while he ducked under the other's grasp. Hae-Rin and Tae-Hoon followed his lead, their training kicking in as they fought alongside him.
"Stay together!" Seo-Jin shouted, focusing on Jae-Min. This was not just a fight for survival; it was personal. The betrayal ran deep, and he was determined to confront it.
Jae-Min dodged Seo-Jin's attacks with ease, his movements fluid and practiced. "You've gotten stronger, I'll give you that," he said, his expression shifting to one of genuine intrigue. "But you're still no match for me."
Suddenly, Jae-Min unleashed a burst of energy, a dark wave that swept toward Seo-Jin. Reacting instinctively, he raised his arms, summoning his own power to counter it. The two energies collided, creating a blinding explosion that rocked the hallway.
Seo-Jin felt the shockwave knock him back, slamming him against the wall. Dazed, he struggled to regain his footing as Hae-Rin rushed to his side. "Are you okay?" she asked, concern etched on her face.
"I'm fine," he replied, pushing himself up. They had to keep moving. They couldn't afford to be trapped here.
"Let's go!" Tae-Hoon urged, grabbing Seo-Jin's arm and pulling him toward the door. "We have to secure the supplies before they regroup!"
As they approached the steel door, Jin-Soo's voice crackled in their earpieces. "I'm monitoring the situation. It looks like they're bringing in reinforcements. You need to hurry!"
With a swift kick, Seo-Jin slammed the door open, revealing the main storage area—a vast room filled with crates of weapons, ammunition, and supplies. The sight fueled their determination.
"There it is!" Hae-Rin exclaimed, pointing to the crates. "We need to gather as much as we can!"
But just as they began to work, the ground trembled beneath them. A low rumble echoed through the walls, sending vibrations coursing through Seo-Jin's body. He turned, eyes wide. "What was that?"
"I don't know, but it can't be good!" Tae-Hoon shouted, glancing toward the exit. "We need to move!"
Suddenly, the ceiling above them cracked, and debris rained down. Seo-Jin dove to shield Hae-Rin, but they were caught off guard as the room erupted in chaos. The lights flickered and died, plunging them into darkness.
"Everyone, get to cover!" Seo-Jin shouted, scrambling to find his footing in the chaotic environment. Panic surged through him as he heard the distant sounds of footsteps approaching.
As they huddled behind a crate, Jin-Soo's voice came through again, laced with urgency. "They're coming! I can't hold them off much longer. You need to get out now!"
Seo-Jin felt the weight of the situation pressing down on him. "We can't leave empty-handed!" he insisted, glancing at the stacks of crates around them. "We have to grab something!"
Hae-Rin nodded, determination flashing in her eyes. "I'll help you! Let's load up on supplies while we can!"
"Go!" Tae-Hoon urged, pushing Seo-Jin forward. "I'll hold them off!"
"No! We're not splitting up!" Seo-Jin shouted, but the urgency in Tae-Hoon's voice left no room for debate.
"Just get the supplies! We'll catch up!" Tae-Hoon yelled, readying himself for the fight.
With a heavy heart, Seo-Jin nodded, knowing they had to trust each other. "Let's grab what we can!"
Together, he and Hae-Rin hurried to the nearest crates, prying them open and hastily filling their bags with weapons and supplies. Each second felt like an eternity as the sounds of battle grew louder around them.
Just as they secured the last crate, the door burst open, and guards flooded into the room, weapons raised. Seo-Jin's blood ran cold as he turned to face the incoming threat.
"Now what?" Hae-Rin whispered, panic lacing her voice.
"Fight!" Seo-Jin shouted, feeling the adrenaline surge as he prepared to face their pursuers. There was no turning back now; they were in the eye of the storm, and they had to find a way out.
