ep 13

I was in shock again and my sister started to smile, the idiot, I just smiled, a little because my father treated me like shit and the bastard had left our lives.

My father had abandoned us at the worst possible time. That was a serious problem because now my mother was alone and she is a weak woman.

The guy left some money but it wouldn't be enough, the police behaved aggressively with my mother.

Two patrol cars had arrived, there was a black car in the distance observing the situation.

'My eyesight is good'. I thought while looking through the cracks in the window and trying not to let anyone notice.

'Someone is watching us, but who? I must not be paranoid, it must be some agency like the FBI or CIA'

The police asked us too many questions and even called us to testify at the police station.

Many questions, some abuse or if I was a curious child and I saw something at the Rowley's house, the adults were yelling for me to remember something about the Rowley's.

Airi didn't understand what the hell was going on, two children in the police department sitting in the waiting room in front of an officer who is watching us while my mother is being interrogated.

"Leave that there." An officer says but I don't pay attention and take two donuts.

"Eat something, I think we're going to be here a long time." I say to my sister who with red eyes nods and eats.

"I'll get fat." She says while eating her donut.

"Maybe." I answered while biting the donut.

"Hey that's mine, Mike watch them damn it." A detective says to the officer who is in charge of taking care of us.

"Damn it kids, I'll lock you up for stealing." The officer at the desk says.

Airi and I continued eating and behaving like any other pair of naughty children until the officer complained to his superior and asked him for a favor.

Maybe it was thanks to my efforts that my mother stopped being interrogated and we were able to go home.

After a few hours everything exploded, it was known illegally because that information was classified, the Rowleys were spies for the Soviet Union.

The television stations arrived there and there were many news programs covering the story.

"I can't believe they accuse Russia so openly." Airi said.

"Gosh if he has any brains, this certainly wouldn't happen in my world."

"I know, this is bad for both of us, I think we should skip school for a few days."

Airi nodded and for a few days we didn't leave the trailer to avoid problems.

Although that didn't work completely because many neighbors came over to talk to my mother.

Luckily, the woman was devastated because my father had abandoned us. Apparently, for her, that was the real problem and because of that, my mother only talked about that.

I looked at my mother after two days. Food was starting to run out and I know that my mother must not have much money.

"Let's go shopping Airi, I need you to come with me." I said as I got dressed and Airi was fake reading a magazine.

"There are still investigators coming to the house to question us. Why are you taking me?" She asked angrily, as if it was all my fault.

"Just follow me and take your empty backpack." I told her and she reluctantly nodded as I emptied my school backpack.

Once outside walking through the park I handed her a drawing with some tiny words.

They are monitoring everything about us, they are using radios and binoculars, don't say anything about our identity or they will take us and experiment on us, I will buy food to cool and we will convince mom to move to New York.

Airi looks at me and gives me her hand. "We will convince mom to move, people look at us funny here, it is no longer our home, I don't like it here." Airi says as she looks out of the corner of her eye at an ice cream van without children buying ice cream.

'SHIELD or HYDRA are a bunch of idiots, seriously as spies they are pitiful' or so I think, but the 90s are still like that.

I can see how a man with a suit and hat reads the newspaper falsely while the man watches us as if I couldn't notice.

We keep walking and find a blue van with two small antennas, 'suspicious'.

Some passersby walking reading the newspaper follow us.

We walk to the supermarket without talking about useful things.

"Mom cries a lot, we should cook waffles"

"Yes waffles!" Airi said while a guy behind me seems to put things in his cart, he has glasses and a big suit, a Sherlock detective coat.

I was excited and wanted to talk to him but Airi got ahead of him.

"I know him." She said the idiot, my eyes almost popped out of their sockets if it weren't for Coulson leaving the cereal and it almost fell out of his hands.

"He doesn't look familiar to me." I say while ignoring her hoping she would stop looking at him but she looks at him suspiciously and that's when she realizes she screwed up.

It was like a girl who finds a soap opera supporting actor on the street and looks at him suspiciously or something like that happened.

"He looks like Uncle Josep." Airi says and then she starts helping me with the shopping.

Airi and I go back home with our school backpacks full of groceries to take to the trailer.

"Who gave you all that food?" My mother asks when she sees us arrive with all the bags from the supermarket.

"I have savings." I said casually as if it was normal

"Savings?" My mother asks without understanding how a 10-year-old has savings.

"Shit"

"Whenever I go to the library I run errands and people give me money, but not anymore"

"Yeah, everything went to shit." My mother says lowering her voice and becoming discouraged again, she even forgets the topic of how I earn money to do the shopping.

"We should move to New York." I said that but my mother didn't say anything.

"It's true." I said as I dropped the bags and ran to the paper area.

"I know where dad is." I said and looked at my mother who stopped crying.

"Damn, could you stop smiling and get angry." I thought but didn't say that.

"Where?" My mother asked standing up quickly and holding my arms while looking at me like a crazy person.

"New York, I submitted an application for a job as a guard for the Stark Ark reactor but my father said he would wait for Oscorp stationery and the mailman, all the letters that the mailman was supposed to deliver yesterday are not there, nothing arrived"

My mother, as if she had an idea, reacted "they should have given him his job back or maybe a better one and he went to New York, he must not have been very sure and because of the rush he left quickly"

I was sad about how horrible it must be for women to have that kind of strange gene.

Once they give their heart to someone, it is the end, they become blind but I could not do much with my age other than manipulate their way of thinking and anticipate it.

Airi was looking at me, she came closer while writing something on a piece of paper that said.

How old are you really?

"-"

She raised her fingers and showed 10

"-" 'liar' thought Airi

She raised hers and showed 6 using her middle finger on one hand.
