Izumi Miyamura: Xover - Chapter 111

Jinx Pov.

"I see you changed your team. Too bad, that Hecate was a beauty." I said lightly. I could hear Sinon sigh.

"Yeah, unfortunately, I had to." Sinon sighed once more. "We saw what happens when I run out of bullets. I'm a hindrance, and as much as I love my Hecate, I can only carry so many bullets." Sinon said regretfully. "So I'm switching to this bow. It's made from monster parts and can generate its own arrows, so that eliminates that problem." She added as she raised her hand with the bow.

"Its own arrows, huh? How much did that thing cost?" I asked curiously as I looked at the bow. It seemed pretty rudimentary and simple, but the material was definitely quite special.

"Nothing, luckily. Thanks to UA for letting me borrow it from their reserves," Sinon said with a sigh. "I have no idea how much a bow like this or a better one will cost. It took me three years to save up for my Hecate by working part-time jobs," Sinon said patiently. I grimaced.

"Ouch." I said, and she nodded.

"I'm not selling my Hecate, so I'll have to start doing some dungeon crawls and start earning money. I need a better bow than this... thing. Yes, it solved my bullet problems, but its effective range is only 100 meters. With my Quirk, I can force it and hit targets at 200~250 meters. It's only a tenth of the range I had with my Hecate." Sinon said, while scrunching her face, almost as if she were offended.

"I mean, you can always find a way to carry both," I said distractedly. "I think there are those tinkers who can create pocket dimensions and stuff. UA might have a contract with one of them so they can create you something the size of your Hecate and a couple of ammo cans." Sinon snorted.

"Yes, and I'll have to sell half of my organs to afford it," Sinon said tersely. I shrugged.

"You can always find out. Dungeons are very profitable, so it might be more affordable than you think," I said simply. Sinon sighed and nodded.

"I'll find out, but…" Sinon tried to say uncertainly. "…I've been meaning to ask since we entered the battlefield… why a boar's head?" Sinon asked, terribly confused. I snorted inside my boar's head.

"Izumi's been training me with my swords, and he says it's a fundamental part of the sword style, for some reason. He forced me to use it during training. Turns out you can get pretty attached to a stupid boar's head," I said dryly. I didn't really know how it happened, but I couldn't tear myself away from the stupid boar's head.

At least I'd decided to make it completely mine. Gone was the brown boar's head. I'd dyed all the fur on the mask, and now it was the same blue as my hair with a few pink streaks. There was a large cross over one of the eyes and a spiral over the other.

"It's... eye-catching." Sinon said neutrally, I snorted. I was about to reply when the old woman from the infirmary finally announced the start of the fight. I tensed slightly when several Ectoplasm clones appeared around us. My eyes began to glow deep pink as my quirk kicked in. I could feel my strength and speed increasing.

"Sinon!" I exclaimed to my companion and reached out. Sinon seemed to understand, reaching out with her free hand and firmly grabbing my forearm, while I grabbed hers. Maintaining a firm grip, I spun around, all my muscles tensing as I launched Sinon dozens of meters into the air to one of the upper floors.

Sinon grabbed one of the railings and climbed up with ease. I was surrounded by the clones and couldn't help but get excited as I clutched the swords on my back in anticipation.

Time to see if the training had been worth it.

July 8, 2xxx - Izumi Pov.

The next day had arrived, and only 3 had looks of suffering; Ashido, in fact, was crying slightly.

"Take your seats," Aizawa said as he burst in, and we were all seated immediately. "Good morning, now about your end-of-term exams… I hate to say some of you failed and such…"

"Everyone will go to the cabin in the woods!" Aizawa announced forcefully. I could see Sona sigh in relief, Ashido cheer happily while crying in relief, and Ravel wanted to look nonchalant, but I could see she was less tense than she had been at the beginning.

"There were no failing grades on the written exam, for the practical, Sitri and Phenex were the only ones who failed," Aizawa announced as he looked at his papers.

"Wait! The Principal said I failed too! " Ashido exclaimed in panic.

"Oh yeah, Ashido, I have a note from the principal here." Aizawa said as he pulled out a folded piece of paper. " I can't change the assessment objectives mid-exam, even if I'm the principal. Still, well done! " Aizawa read before flipping the paper over and showing a drawing of Nezu holding up a paw and two fingers in a peace sign.

"Does that mean he wasn't going to fail me if I helped Bakugou from the beginning?!" Ashido asked in surprise.

"That doesn't matter! That means saving that stupid dummy was a complete waste of time!! " Bakugou exclaimed indignantly. My smile was starting to grow. Oh, we had all shared exactly what had happened on our exams once we got back to the dorms. In great detail, each. And Bakugou and Ashido's was actually really entertaining to listen to.

What I wouldn't give to have that Aizawa mannequin.

"Exactly." Aizawa said simply with a shrug.

"That damn rat!" Bakugou growled. And it was telling that Aizawa didn't correct her. I laughed lightly.

" Yay! Cabin in the woods! " Ashido cheered once again, changing her attitude almost immediately. The relief and euphoria were practically palpable all around her.

"Silence," Aizawa said simply, and we all fell silent once more. "For the exam, we villains left a way, a path, for you to win while we mediated how you faced the challenge we posed to you."

"If we didn't, all of you would have faced defeat before the exam even began. It was meant to corner you. The camp is a training ground; the students who failed are the ones who need it the most." Aizawa said solemnly as he looked at Ravel and Sona, who looked down.

"That said, at the end of the exam, you met the 'condition' necessary to pass, which was to work together. You couldn't overcome the obstacle that was Cementoss, but you did a good job," Aizawa said while nodding. The two girls blushed slightly.

"Still, failing is failing. You'll have special marking periods. But they won't be as harsh as they would have been if you'd failed completely," Aizawa finally added. The pair nodded in slight relief. "And before I forget, Kiramann, good work getting new weapons and using them, but you need more work. It's not good to hit yourself with your own swords," Aizawa said dryly.

"It's not my fault it's hard to use a whip! Kayama and Izumi make it look easy!" Jinx complained, and I laughed lightly.

She had recounted their fight. At first, it was going quite well, even after several combinations of her weapons, but when one extended and turned into a whip, it was a complete failure. Which made sense since we had never trained her to use that type of weapon.

And it's not as easy as just waving the weapon, especially since it wasn't a whip per se; it was a sectioned sword held together with wires. It was very different from using a whip; there was a massive margin for errors that had to be mastered to use it correctly.

I guess I'll have to focus on that for the short term, at least so she won't hit herself. Or perhaps help her enter a state of full concentration through breathing. She was pretty close; she'd already memorized the breathing pattern, and her lung capacity was in the right place.

She just needed a little push. Maybe she could achieve it during camp. Of the girls I was teaching, she was the closest to achieving it. Next in order were Tanya, Darkness, Visha, and Louise.

The first was in excellent physical shape, and oddly enough, she was quite talented at learning. Darkness was next. There were some minor issues. Darkness had a better physique than Tanya, but let's just say... her breathing became really irregular whenever something hit her, making it challenging to maintain a steady breath.

Visha wasn't bad; in fact, she was better than Tanya at some things. The only reason she didn't surpass both of them was that the other two already had a higher base level when I started training them.

Finally, Louise, the euphoric little girl who was learning that she could actually use some elemental Quirks. Specifically, water. We hadn't moved past water yet. Which didn't bother her; she was actually satisfied with being able to use some Quirks.

She was more focused on sword movements than breathing; after all, it was the only way to use her Quirks for now. We had tried to get her to use her Quirk without a sword or anything, but there was no success.

So she's working three times harder to learn how to wield a sword, and she's making great strides. The only thing she lacks is strength and stamina, but she's slowly but steadily gaining them.

And, in fact, her quirk had improved quite a bit. The water that was coming out was becoming increasingly lethal. Somehow, the water formed as an echo, not on the sword itself. Every time she made a movement, an echo of water would hit the same spot a split second later.

It wasn't really dangerous at the moment other than annoying, but I could easily see it becoming downright lethal. If the water became stronger, more precise, and more pressurized, and continued on its path, it would be capable of devastating close-to-mid-range attacks.

Still, from what I learned through texts last night, she passed the practical test. She was ecstatic about it, and that was a good thing.

"Yes, but it isn't. Keep training. Miyamura, help her, it's your job." Aizawa said simply, and I nodded. "Now I'll go get the cabin guides to distribute." With that, Aizawa left the classroom.

I looked at Ravel and Sona. According to their story, their challenge was to outmaneuver Cementoss. Which I could see. Sona specialized in controlling her Quirk and strategic thinking, rather than relying on all-out firepower. She shouldn't have anything in her repertoire that could easily outclass Cementoss.

Even more so, according to other accounts, all the UA teachers were significantly stronger than their canon counterparts. Aizawa using daggers and fighting Taylor head-on? Midnight using Haki with her whip and being able to knock out Azula's lightning? Yeah, they were powerful. I guess I should have expected it.

Back to the test, there was Ravel. In fact, she was exactly the same as Sona. Her intellect should be on the same level as Sona's, or very close to it. Her quirk allowed her a degree of immortality, but that was purely defensive.

Offensively, she could launch powerful flames. But nothing close to what Todoroki could do, at least not yet. Since she was in the same hole as Sona, there was nothing she could do to get past Cementos's defenses.

According to her account, both attempted to attack simultaneously, uncoordinated, and ended up canceling out most of their attacks when they collided. It wasn't until the end, when they began to argue—the reason for this remained a mystery, as they refused to share it—that they were able to make some progress by patching things up.

Or at least they finally reached a compromise where they weren't hostile to each other. Unfortunately, it was too late to complete the task.

The other matches caught my attention, although most ended up as expected despite the different teams.

Uraraka and Yaoyorozu defeated 13 in a hand-to-hand fight, in which 13 apparently put up a pretty respectable fight and didn't just let herself be subdued immediately.

Sniper was tricked and ambushed by Hagakure and Tsuyu after a direct confrontation between them.

Present Mic had immediately rendered Jiro useless with her Quirk, and to my surprise, the fight didn't depend entirely on Yunyun. Jiro was using daggers in addition to the speakers she had on her body. Some pretty special daggers, from what she'd shown. And quite dangerous.

They were daggers that had a connector on the hilt, allowing her to connect her earlobes to them. What was special about them was that they had a small but powerful speaker at the tip of the dagger. When she stabbed something, she could use her heartbeat to release a small but extremely powerful blast that could penetrate quite a few highly durable objects.

They were incredible and extremely lethal. She could stab it into a monster's head lightly, and with its pulse, she could create a small burst that instantly passed through its brain. She didn't need that much strength, just her Quirk.

So she was able to fight Present Mic, and with Yunyun's help, they were able to overcome her after a while.

Aizawa finally returned with the papers and began handing them out. I flipped through the sheet of paper lightly. It wasn't the camp with the Wild, Wild Pussycats. Plans still hadn't changed. What I was seeing and had forgotten was that Class 1B would also be coming with us. Which was good.

"A week of training, huh." I said out loud.

"Looks like we'll need pretty big bags for all the stuff we need to carry." Midoriya said as he looked at his sheet.

"I have to buy a lot of things, I don't have anything I need here," Taylor said with a grimace.

"Oh, in that case. Since tomorrow is free, and exams are over, we could… go shopping together! "Come on, everyone in Class A! " Hagakure said excitedly.

"That's a great idea!" Ashido exclaimed happily.

"Yeah, why not?" I said with a smile. The others quickly joined in. In the end, most of them joined the shopping trip. Some, like Todoroki, who visited the hospital on her days off, had decided not to go.
