Izumi Miyamura: Xover - Chapter 113

Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Scott Fellman.

July 9, 2xxx - Izumi Pov.

Hmm, now that I've stopped to think about it. Would the whole I-island plot come up? I mean, David Shield existed. I'd sought him out. But in this world, he shouldn't have needed to create the Quirk Amplification Device to help All Might regain his power. All Might was either fully healed or never injured five years ago, so OFA wasn't withering away inside him.

Well, by now, All Might should have the hots for OFA, his remnant, since the quirk was transferred to Midoriya. But that was definitely recent. All Might was still as strong as ever for the time being.

That left the question of whether David had created the device or not. In theory, everything suggested that he shouldn't have. Therefore, it would never be sealed in the I-island vaults, nor would he hire the fake villains to steal it.

If the entire I-Island arc hadn't developed, it would have been good, really, one less problem. Although fighting Wolfram would have been fun. Such a big target to cut. Yeah, it would have been nice.

"What are you thinking?" Taylor asked as she lightly pushed me with her arm that was still entwined with mine.

"Calculating how many chocolate bars I need to bring to last me through camp," I said without hesitation. I could hear the entire class snorting around me. Taylor sighed.

"Yes… of course you are," Taylor said tiredly. "By the way, we finally arrived," Taylor added. I looked around. We were surrounded by all kinds of people. Today was a hectic day.

"It's the shopping mall with the most stores in the prefecture, in keeping with the fashion of today's youth!! It's the shopping mall of the Kiyashi district! " Ashido said happily while cheering.

"Eehh, it's livelier than that time we came on our date!" Ruby said happily. As she hung around my neck, Ashido gasped.

"You had a date here?!" Ashido asked excitedly. Before Ruby could answer, a group of teenagers caught our attention.

"Hey, dude, look over there! It's the UA guys! The first years! WOOOO, the sports festival!!" exclaimed one of the excited teenagers in our direction.

"Wow, there are people who still remember us," Uraraka murmured, impressed and slightly blushing. I laughed lightly. The others laughed lightly before they began listing the necessities they needed to buy. And just as I expected, everyone had different priorities.

"Seeing as we all have different goals, why don't we decide on a meeting time and go our separate ways?" Sona asked, adjusting her glasses. The idea was readily accepted, and the group split up almost instantly, leaving me alone with my fiancées.

"Well, the three of you have to buy basically everything, right? " I asked simply. They all nodded.

"I have some camping stuff from back in the States, if it wasn't already thrown away, but still, I'd outgrow everything, so it's useless now, so yeah," Taylor said with a shrug. "I was talking to my contact at the PRT about the trip, and they quickly offered to pay for everything I needed, so… today's shopping is on the PRT's account," Taylor said with a wide smile.

"I should have the military supplies at the palace. But the least I want to do is send a message to Zuko to pack my things and send them to me. So I'll do the same as Taylor and spend Zuko's money," Azula said, imitating Taylor's smile. Taylor extended a fist, and Azula immediately bumped it.

"As long as they're having fun," I said playfully. Ruby pouted at not being included.

"My things are at Patch, and even though Aunt Raven loves me, I don't think she'd appreciate me calling her and interrupting her busy schedule to be used as a mover. Mom is okay with me buying new things! I want something red! " Ruby said excitedly. I nodded.

"Then let's go. I can store everything in my shadows, so it will be easy to carry everything," I said simply. The three of them nodded before we started walking. As we went from shop to shop, I froze the moment I felt the malevolence coming from a particular aura. I turned and looked into the distance. The aura was next to Midoriya's.

My eyes widened slightly. Shigaraki! I'd forgotten about that!

"I'll be right back, I have to go to the bathroom." I told the girls and turned around.

"Yeah, don't get lost—no, wait! Don't go off alone! " Taylor shouted, too late. I was already lost in the crowd while dodging their insects. I picked up my pace, stepping hard, but as softly as I could. The crowd of people barely seemed to notice me as I accelerated and disappeared into thin air.

"It's all about All Might." I heard Shigaraki say as she held Midoriya by the neck. "The reason all these people spend their days laughing with their shit-eating smiles, is because of All Might too! It's because of him that they're always smiling, like there's never going to be anyone he can't save again!! "

"aaahh, I'm so happy we got to talk, this is amazing!!" Shigaraki laughed, and I finally decided to interrupt her. I plopped down next to Shigaraki, my arm wrapped around her head, and placed my hand on her shoulder.

"There's a party here, and I wasn't invited?" I asked with a slightly strained smile. Shigaraki's eyes widened, and she tried to stand, but I pressed harder on her shoulder and forced her to stay in place. "Now, where do you want to go, you dehydrated little lady?" I asked casually.

"Miyamura!" Midoriya moaned in relief. Shigaraki squeezed her hand around my neck, but didn't use her fifth finger to activate her quirk, just glared at me with a hateful look.

"You! Where did you come from?! Why didn't I notice you?! " Shigaraki snarled. I hummed.

"Performance issues on your end? Don't worry, it happens." I said simply with a mocking smile. Shigaraki grunted. She tried to pull her other hand out, but before she could take her hand out of her pocket, I used my free hand to forcefully grab her elbow and shove her hand back into her hoodie pocket.

"Let me go or I'll kill Midoriya." Shigaraki growled maliciously as she tightened her grip once more and threatened to bring her finger down on Midoriya's neck. I just flexed my shadows over the sleeve of the arm I had on Shigaraki's neck, and from the shadows emerged the tip of a sword. I moved my hand and placed the edge on her neck, making her freeze.

"I guess we'll see if I can kill you first before you kill Midoriya." I said casually. Shigaraki's eyes widened.

"Miyamura!?" Midoriya exclaimed in panic and went slightly pale.

"That's not very All Might of you," Shigaraki hissed as she began to smile sadistically. I shrugged.

"It is what it is," I said simply. Shigaraki loosened her grip on Midoriya's neck. She didn't let go, but her grip was much softer now. I pulled the blade of the sword away from her neck just a few centimeters. "By the way, I couldn't help but overhear your conversation, and I couldn't tell that you have a terrible understanding of what people want to tell you," I said mockingly.

"What do you mean?! What is there to understand!? It's all All Might's fault! My goal is to create a world without All Might and expose how fragile the justice of this society really is!" Shigaraki growled.

"What?! That's not what I meant to say! " Midoriya said in surprise.

"Wait, no? " Shigaraki asked, looking at her in confusion. I wanted to snort; it almost didn't look like a villain and a hero threatening each other to death.

"Of course not! I'm trying to say that Stain, unlike you, has a sociopolitical agenda that is understandable and relatable, or at least that people are able to consider what she was saying! "

"Meanwhile, you, we've met twice, and you're the equivalent of an angry toddler who doesn't like the food in front of her and is given access to fuel by someone of dubious morals and nefarious goals to burn it all down! You lack traits that would inspire confidence in your agenda and organization. " Midoriya said while sounding almost indignant. Shigaraki blinked.

"Well, this is a little awkward. I was thinking it was all All Might's fault and he was planning to kill him," Shigaraki said, much more calmly than she expected.

""We noticed it."" Midoriya and I said with the same dryness. The three of us remained in an awkward silence.

"By the way, did you know that All for One orchestrated your family's death?" I asked abruptly. Shigaraki and Midoriya froze stiffly. Shigaraki's hand slipped from Midoriya's neck, and she glared at me murderously. Midoriya, on the other hand, stared at me in disbelief.

"What the hell are you talking about! You don't know anything about me! " Shigaraki hissed furiously once again.

"Sure? You really didn't think we couldn't find out who it was, or what? Tenko?" I asked with a thin smile. Shigaraki's face went completely stiff, and I could feel her entire aura leaving her body.

"How did you know?!" she hissed with hatred. Every pore in her bulged with malice.

"You're underestimating heroes, Tenko. By the way, did you know you have a foot repulsion quirk, like your grandmother, Nana? But All for One switched it to Decay when you were 5 years old, hoping it would activate just like it did." I said simply.

"You're lying! Sensei wouldn't do that!" Shigaraki growled.

"Wouldn't she? I'm sure you know AFO and her way with people better. Isn't it curious how she found you right at your lowest point? " I asked simply.

"Shut up!" she growled again.

"In case you wanted to know, there are also records of someone with the same Decay Quirk as you. It's really curious that they're exactly the same, even though you're not related. But well, that person disappeared decades ago." I lied this time. Shigaraki's eyes finally showed a flash of doubt.

"You know, I'm sure you always wondered why your father hated heroes. He always said it was because your grandmother abandoned them to keep playing hero, but your grandmother did it to save you. Or try to, at least. So that AFO wouldn't go after her family. So that she wouldn't come after you after she killed her." I struck again, the metal hot. Shigaraki's jaw hardened.

"I don't care about my family. They're better off dead," Shigaraki hissed hatefully.

"Are you sure? You still have family alive. Family that cares about you."

"I don't have a family!" Shigaraki exclaimed.

"You have it." I shrugged. "You can look up your grandmother on the internet. Someone as smart as you will find the answer easily; it's not that hard to notice." I said simply.

"I don't care! I don't care what you have to say! It's all a lie! Let go of me, damn it!" Shigaraki snarled as she shook off my grasp, not caring about the sword at her neck. Wado Ichimonji's blade was sharp enough to leave a red line when her neck touched the sword. I immediately withdrew the blade.

Shigaraki took advantage of the moment and stood up, separating herself from us.

"I'll kill you! Mark my words, I'll make you suffer! " Shigaraki exclaimed before retreating into the crowd.

"Wait!" Izuku said in a panic. I grabbed his shoulder and stopped him from going after her, Midoriya and I watched Shigaraki leave.

"Why?" Midoriya asked simply. I raised an eyebrow at him. "Why... why did you let her go!? Why tell her all that?! " Midoriya asked, not understanding.

"It's not like we can keep her," I said bitterly. Midoriya was about to open his mouth, but I got in first. "Whatever ultimate plan AFO has for Shigaraki, it seems to be too important for her to let the heroes capture her. Between her and that Mist Teleporter, Kurogiri, it's nearly impossible to keep her locked up," I said honestly.

"That…" Midoriya tried to say, paling slightly before gritting his teeth. He knew I was right.

"And why tell her all that? … she… You made an excellent comparison. She's an angry, upset preschooler who hates today's society. If you arrested her now, it would only reinforce that. She… she has to get out of that place on her own. And the only way is to make her distrust and start doubting AFO."

"Maybe she won't achieve anything now, or maybe she doesn't care. But I had to try. That's what you and All Might want, right? " I asked softly. Midoriya bit his lip before sighing.

"Yes... I- We want to help Shigaraki, Tenko. We had a talk. Grandpa is devastated about it. He's been searching for information everywhere, and everything points to the fact that you were right in everything you said. It was too much. He's been visiting Grandma Nana's grave more often." Midoriya said painfully. I sighed.

"I'm sorry. And I'm sorry if I overstepped my bounds with Shigaraki." I said honestly, Midoriya shook his head.

"No… it was something we needed to know. Better for you than for a prank and cruel revenge or whatever AFO is planning." Midoriya said softly. "And about Shigaraki… I think you're right. Unless she goes off on her own, or we can defeat AFO once and for all, then I think it'll be impossible to convince her." He sighed.

"Even so." I said simply. We both fell silent.

"Do you think... do you think it's working to make her doubt AFO?" Midoriya asked weakly. I sighed.

"Honestly? No idea. That's up to her. She might not be suspicious at the moment, but doubt may start to bother her, and she'll do her own research. We can only hope that she'll realize what kind of monster AFO is before she falls into the same abyss." I said solemnly. Midoriya bit his lip. The silence returned, but it was broken even faster by a sigh from Midoriya.

"We should call the police," he finally said. I shrugged.

"Whatever you want, or just call All Might. I was following her with Observation Haki. She is no longer in the mall. So I don't know how good it is to call the police and cause trouble at the mall over a little smoke." I said simply.

"Izuku, there you are! I've been looking for you for hours! " Bakugou exclaimed as he approached with Uraraka.

"Izumi, where have you been? I thought you were lost." Taylor said as she approached. I blinked and looked at the bugs all over me. I had been so distracted by the conversation that I had ignored them. I looked at Midoriya, and we smiled slightly at each other before sighing. Midoriya began to recount everything that had happened while calling All Might.
