The Indigo Stadium quaked under the weight of Colossus's arrival, the alpha Tyranitar's roar still echoing as snowflakes danced in the air from the lingering Snowscape.
Pryce's gaze locked onto the beast, and for the first time in years, doubt gnawed at his icy resolve. He'd faced alpha Pokémon during the Infinite War—ferocious anomalies that demanded half his team to subdue, each encounter a brutal slog of attrition.
Those memories flashed now: a towering alpha Nido king he'd barely toppled with three Pokémon, an alpha Tortera from Sinnoh that had nearly buried him in the ground.
But this? An alpha Tyranitar, a pseudo-legendary titan among titans? Its sheer presence dwarfed those foes. Every step Colossus took sent tremors through the arena, the pond rippling, the grass shuddering.
Pryce's cane trembled faintly in his grip as he processed the raw strength radiating from it.
'This isn't just a Pokémon—it's a walking disaster.' He'd only known two trainers with alphas: Lance, whose Dragonite could shatter cliffs with a roar, and Professor Oak's Dragonite.
Lance's Dragonite had pushed Pryce to his limits once, a force he'd never forgotten.
'If this thing's on that level, I'm in deeper than I thought. Half my team might not cut it—maybe all of 'em won't.'
Across the field, Gladion stood unfazed, his smirk unshaken despite Memento and Aurora Veil slashing Colossus's attack power and Snowscape bolstering Weavile's Defense.
Say Weavile's base Defense was 100—Snowscape kicked it to 150, a solid boost. But Colossus? Gladion pegged his Attack at a monstrous 1000, a number he tossed around in his head with a cocky grin.
Even with Memento halving it and Aurora Veil cutting deeper, it'd still land at least 200—more than enough to flatten Weavile's snowy shield.
'Pryce thinks his little buffs are gonna save him?' Gladion chuckled inwardly.
'My big boy's a wrecking ball—200's still overkill for that claw-rat! Heck, Colossus could sneeze and send Weavile crying home—Pryce's math's adorable, but it's nap time for his team!'
Pryce, clinging to his strategy, barked, "Weavile, Hone Claws—again! Then Night Slash!"
Weavile's claws scraped together, gleaming as its Attack and Accuracy spiked once more. It lunged, Night Slash carving a dark arc toward Colossus's towering frame. But the blow landed with a feeble *scree*, like a butter knife scraping steel.
No defense move—just Colossus's natural hide, forged from hundreds of tons of unyielding rock and muscle, shrugged it off. Weavile froze, claws trembling, its smirk replaced by wide-eyed panic.
Pryce's jaw tightened, but he pressed on. "Metal Claw—go!"
Gladion just laughed, voice dripping with mockery. "Colossus, catch that little mouse!"
Colossus smirked, a low rumble shaking his chest as he thrust out a massive claw. Weavile's Metal Claw slashed forward, steel gleaming, but Colossus snatched it mid-strike, gripping the smaller Pokémon like a toy. The attack tickled—barely a scratch on his alpha hide.
[What's this, a claw massage?] Colossus growled, his voice a gravelly taunt. [Gonna need bigger paws and sharper claws, runt!"]
"Slam it!" Gladion ordered, grinning wide.
Colossus hoisted Weavile skyward which was quite high considering his big size, its panicked squeak drowned by the crowd's gasp, then slammed it into the ground with earth-shattering force.
The battlefield cracked, fissures spiderwebbing outward, snow and grass upheaving as Weavile hit hard, knocked out cold. No move—just pure, unrelenting power. Snowscape's Defense boost crumbled like wet paper under the titan's might.
The referee's flag shot up. "Weavile is unable to battle!"
The crowd erupted, a tidal wave of cheers—"Colossus crushes!" "Weavile's toast!" The announcer's voice thundered, "Unbelievable! Colossus slams Weavile with raw strength—no moves, just muscle! Pryce's down three—Gladion's titan is rewriting the rules!"
Gladion's thoughts swaggered with arrogance and a dash of comedy.
'Aurora Veil and Memento works when I use actual moves to lower his attack—but Colossus? He doesn't need moves! He's a one-mon wrecking crew—Pryce's buffs are like putting a Band-Aid on a Snorlax stampede! I could tell him to sit on Weavile next time—game over, old man!'
He pictured Colossus lounging on Pryce's team, sipping a smoothie, and snickered.
Pryce recalled Weavile, his scowl deepening as he grabbed his next Poké Ball.
'Three down, and that brute's barely flexed.' His mind raced—Colossus's melee power was monstrous, unstoppable up close.
'Distance—I need range to survive this.' The pond in the battlefield's center offered hope. He flung the ball. "Lapras, go!"
The Water-Ice Pokémon splashed into the pond, her massive form settling gracefully, neck arched as she eyed Colossus from afar.
Pryce's strategy clicked—Lapras could keep the titan at bay, peppering it from the water. "Snowscape!" he commanded, renewing the fading effect. Fresh snow swirled, reinforcing the Defense boost, a lifeline against Gladion's onslaught.
Gladion just shrugged, smirking.
'Range game, huh? Let's show him ours.'
"Colossus, Hyper Beam!"
He barked the order, then froze—memories flashing of Colossus as a Pupitar, nearly obliterating Koga's Pokémon with a full-power Hyper Beam during a sparring match gone wrong.
'Whoops—almost turned this into a murder scene,' he thought, wincing. "Use 50-60 percent power only!" he added, hoping Memento and Aurora Veil would dull it enough to spare Lapras a fatal blow.
Then, second-guessing, he reached out telepathically, 'On second thought, 40 percent—let's not send Pryce crying to the Pokémon Center!'
Pryce's eyes widened, hearing the Hyper Beam call—panic flickered as he knew that a hyper beam from an alpha Tyranitar would be nothing to scoff at.
He shouted, "Lapras, Hyper Beam—full power!"
Both Pokémon charged, energy coalescing. Colossus's maw glowed, a restrained but still blinding beam erupting, while Lapras unleashed her own, a shimmering lance of light from the pond. The beams clashed mid-air, a deafening *boom* shaking the stadium—but Colossus's restrained blast overwhelmed Lapras's effort, shattering her beam and slamming into her. The pond erupted in a geyser, Lapras flung back, crashing unconscious against the shore.
The referee signaled, "Lapras is unable to battle!"
The crowd exploded, a deafening roar—"Colossus is insane!" "Hyper Beam domination!" The announcer's voice soared, "A clash of titans—and Colossus's Hyper Beam obliterates Lapras."
Pryce's cane trembled, his thoughts a storm of frustration and fading arrogance.
'Four gone, and he's holding back?' He'd misjudged—Colossus wasn't just strong; it was a monster beyond his war-hardened experience.
'Even Lance's Dragonite didn't toy with other trainers like this.' His team was dwindling, and Gladion's smirk gnawed at him.
Gladion patted Colossus's side, the titan rumbling approval.
[Nice one, boss—barely broke a sweat!] Colossus growled, glaring at Pryce.
[Insult Maren again, old man, and I'll bury ya!]
Gladion's grin widened—four down, two to go, and his alpha was just warming up.
