[Internal Group of轮回]
[Solitary Drink] Do you understand how I feel right now? No, never mind, you don't need to understand.
[Sanjie Liudao] ????????
[Is There Double-Skin Milk in the Cafeteria Today?] Solitary Drink, what's your problem so early in the morning?
[Tech Department - Tong Lin] I think I have an idea of what he's going through.
[Solitary Drink] After all, only you would be so health-conscious to come to work at this time. Unlike those lazy bums still tucked in their blankets.
[Solitary Drink] So they also missed the beautiful girl coming in for the internship interview.
[Sanjie Liudao] Did she pass?
[Tech Department - Tong Lin] She did. This girl is interesting. Her hand speed isn't fast, but her playstyle is quite cerebral.
Zhongqing, who was labeled as having a slow hand speed, finished her last PK and returned the max-level Elemental Mage account card she borrowed from Solitary Drink.
Of course, she couldn't possibly exhibit her hand speed from competitions; after all, she was here to apply for a position as a lackey in the轮回 guild, not to become a trainee for the轮回 team.
However, the person sitting across from her wasn't feeling quite comfortable.
Anyone else would feel disoriented when being hit repeatedly by various ice-based magic arrays, not relying on the high damage of the Elemental Mage, but rather being worn down like peeling an onion, leading to defeat.
While watching Solitary Drink play earlier, he had been quite happy, but now that it was his turn, he felt completely lost.
Yet, when he glanced at the beautiful girl sitting quietly across from him, he felt that he could eat an extra bowl of rice for lunch today.
If he thought about how today's weekly hundred-person instance could include this kind of Elemental Mage, he believed he could have another bowl for dinner as well.
Though he soon felt a sense of guilt for undermining the image of轮回, which was quickly suppressed by Solitary Drink.
"I should be considered to have passed, right?"
Zhongqing's hand speed for these two PKs was about 150. It was entirely insufficient for the professional arena, but it was enough among high-level players, especially since she was playing an Elemental Mage that didn't require excessive hand speed.
Solitary Drink was not just good at management; he didn't need Tong Lin to remind him that this girl's PvP style was like that. It was likely she would also think while playing in large group instances or wild maps. For the guild, there was nothing more reassuring than someone like this.
"Of course! If you can't pass, then our轮回 guild really shouldn't be hiring anyone." Solitary Drink excitedly tried to pat someone on the shoulder but quickly adjusted his arm to rest on Tong Lin's shoulder instead.
"Now, I need to clarify something: I don't have a max-level account card."
Zhongqing pulled out a ninth district account card from her bag. "I lost my previous account card, and the current one hasn't entered the Realm of the Gods yet. So could you lend me a max-level account card that you don't use often?"
"Not a problem. We have plenty of account cards in the guild department," Solitary Drink patted his chest with his free hand. "We can also help you level up your account. Aside from the higher-level elite team, we have a golden team responsible for account leveling. Just leave that to them."
Zhongqing was waiting for this sentence.
Can this be called freeloading? This was clearly a reasonable use of her labor to gain extra benefits.
Though that extra benefit might include players from other teams coming to the online game during the summer break to test their skills, Zhongqing was only here for a month as an intern, not to sell herself to the轮回 team, so feeling guilty about it would be quite strange.
Solitary Drink helped her register her identity information and handed her a temporary meal card and the account card she would use, before taking her to the seat that would belong to her for the month.
Members of the轮回 elite team need to clear more than three hundred-person instances in a week.
The current version's highest-level hundred-person instances are seven. Each account can only choose one to run, and the number of instances a large guild can clear in a week depends entirely on its strength. The top four elite teams in轮回 are quite reliable, but from the fifth team onward, the progress tends to be hit or miss. If luck is on their side, they might clear all bosses; if not, they may only get through the first two.
It's no wonder Wei Chen went undercover in轮回 and managed to climb to the position of the fifth elite team's leader.
"I see you've also received an account card that isn't for an Elemental Mage. Your skill level should be fine, right?"
"It's no problem." Zhongqing had three cards: Elemental Mage, Berserker, and Warlock.
The Berserker was her original specialization, and she felt a bit impulsive to log in immediately to test it out.
As for the Warlock, it was simply because while checking the account card information, she noticed that this Warlock card had an orange weapon that increased casting distance and had decent stats, though it was level 50 and its damage coefficient wasn't too high. But Zhongqing didn't plan to use this weapon to fight bosses anyway.
Her Warlock skill level wasn't too high, but that was in comparison to professional players. The Warlock and her Elemental Mage playstyle had some similarities.
As for the Elemental Mage, it was the best choice she made from the options available, with gear attributes closest to the set she frequently used. This was her primary alias in the轮回 guild.
"Then you should log in and join the party. Before noon, let's clear the prerequisite levels."
Solitary Drink returned to his own seat.
Zhongqing knew why he was in such a hurry. Although轮回 won against Yanyu for the first time in the playoffs yesterday, their next opponent was Weicao, while on the other side, the semifinals featured Baihua against Lanyu.
Compared to Weicao, who were stronger in the league,轮回 hadn't yet reached the peak of team coordination, so they naturally wanted to make up some equipment gaps.
With less than a week until the match, it seemed almost hopeless to improve overall equipment, but if concentrated on one person, coupled with the fact that tomorrow marked the start of a new weekly cooldown, there might indeed be some unexpected results.
And for轮回, a victory already secured undoubtedly bolstered their confidence to advance further.
This instance was called the Fountain of Immortality.
Zhongqing logged into the game and hurried her character to the gathering point of the team, joining the party.
What made her feel a bit subtle was the Elemental Mage's ID, which was named Wulan. Fortunately, in the轮回 guild, IDs in this format were quite common, so no one cared about this matter.
She checked her character's attributes and inventory while joining the external voice channel for the team through the chat interface.
The physics engine of Glory was quite good, but unfortunately, the voice system was a bit stubborn, adhering to old-fashioned principles of sound propagation, which worked fine in five or ten-man instances, but for a hundred-person team, they had to rely on other software.
She glanced at the IDs in the voice queue and matched them roughly with those in the team before switching back to the game.
Solitary Drink was only responsible for overall coordination and wasn't in charge of running the instance; the one directing was the team's off-tank knight. While commanding in a twenty-man instance is fine, it inevitably makes one feel a bit uneasy in a hundred-person one.
However, Zhongqing wasn't too clear about the overall skill level of this group and could only enter the instance first and see how things went.
