The wind whistled by her ears.
Her hair whipped around, tangling. The wind rustled the fabric of her clothes, her robe dancing in the wind. Pinpricks tingled over her skin. She took a step onto the ledge, teetering over the ground.
The cold chain from her necklace sent shivers down her spine. She gazed at the daffodil pendant. A flood of memories washed in as she let out a hollow laugh. How foolish.
The night sky, filled with stars, made the cold day seem slightly warmer as the city loomed ahead of her. The sound of cars honking, the bustle of people, and the laughs filled her ears.
She could imagine her parents asleep at home. They would be in separate rooms since their fighting never seemed to end. It was all because of her.
Below her, a group of friends sang as they left a karaoke house. She smiled at the memories that they brought up. Her smile faded quickly, however, when the realization set in.
She took a final look at everything around her and stepped forward on the ledge. The roof door banged loudly in her ears as tears rolled down. She let her arms fall out as she turned around and let herself fall.
His face was the last thing she saw.
