Alice's mind raced at the complexity of the situation. She opened her mouth to protest again, but she could not form any words.
What could she say? She knew that Regina was right—there really was no other choice.
Regina continued. "We don't have time, Alice. The mana is feeding on him. We either do this, or we risk losing him forever."
For a long moment, the two women stayed silent.
Finally, Alice spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. "Okay... if you are sure... then... go ahead."
With that, Regina's hand reached for Julian's belt, undoing it slowly. The belt came undone with a soft clank sound.
She paused for a moment, glancing at Alice. "No one must know of this, Alice. Do you understand?" she said, her voice cold and commanding.
Alice nodded quickly. "Y-Yes, I understand."
