Chapter 59| Three Friends

The sun had settled after a long day's work, painting the sky with a blend of deep purples, oranges, and fading golds. Darkness crept over the land like a silent veil, shrouding the trees and rocky terrain in deep shadows. The remnants of daylight flickered like dying embers on the horizon, and the first stars peeked through the heavens, twinkling with an eerie serenity.

Aricia and Vincent sat in silence, their bodies weary but their minds restless. The day's exhaustion clung to their limbs, but sleep evaded them. After scavenging through what little belongings they had managed to hold onto, they built a makeshift shelter from scattered debris and broken branches. A simple mat lay spread beneath Vincent, while Aricia remained seated on the rough ground, her back against a fallen log.

Vincent lay on his back, one hand resting beneath his head as he gazed at the sky.
