Chapter 4

About five people were up in a tree. Down below there's a zombie banging its head. Now Violet understood why they did it. It was because the skin was hard. After hitting it, she immediately felt that the texture was different.

It was harder than humans. If only using a sword without 'Mana' then it would survive at least twenty slashes.

Pity the fate of ordinary knights.

"Ana!" shouted Lucius seeing his fiancée running towards the five people.

Was she actually innocent or stupid?

"Help us Your Highness the princess! Saintess please!"

"Oh, God. Thank you for bringing in a savior angel like Her Highness the princess!"

The zombies could not touch Ana. Once touched it would turn to ash, some chose to stay away. The zombies' instincts also worked.

"Come down, we'll protect you. See over there? There is Miss Krakton who has killed many monsters." Ana tried to persuade.

Violet did nothing when they looked at her or when the Saintess pointed. Instead, she sat in silence, watching the drama unfold.

"Ana, come here. We need to get to the sanctuary first. It's dangerous if you do something like that," Lucius said, pulling Ana's hand.

There was drama between the two people who had different opinions. Not for long because Lucius carried Ana in a rice sack style. Well, it was a good choice because the surrounding zombies were heading towards them.

"Why are they looking at me? My back feels like a burden."

Although Violet's back was turned, the gazes of the two people who had fought were clear. It was as if they were asking her to help them. Two servants, three female knights.

What could be gained by helping them? Other than public attention?

All right. For now, Violet would help. I didn't know what to do in the future, help or do nothing.

"Get down, get in there." Violet walked past the five people without a glance.

They were hesitant at first, if not for the assurance of the crown prince and the saintess, they probably wouldn't have come down. After that, they finally left the palace area. Standing in the forest right in front of the refuge entrance.

"Why is it bleeding? Who hurt my little sister?"

Right when the magic door opened, a person with short light brown hair, pink eyes, wearing casual clothes such as a t-shirt, trousers, and sandals came out. The left ear has a piercing and the right arm looks like a tattoo. It wasn't, it was a mark of reserve power.

Violet remembered that the mark was made when her brother was a child. He was so interested in black magic that she made it, where he knew the meaning of the tattoo. It contained forbidden magic, not so much because only a few people could hold a lot of black mana.

Is Violet included? If based on the novel, absolutely not. However, since the world had changed dramatically, Violet wouldn't think about the plot anymore. Everything has changed and so could her character.

Now and in the future, Violet must be careful. There could be someone among us who caused all of this to happen.

"I'm okay, Brother Chico. Seriously!" Violet exclaimed with a serious face.

Chico ignored her, choosing instead to wipe her sister's face with a handkerchief. It was obvious that the tower head loved his younger sister. Not even a glance at the crown prince who was behind. The light brown irises only looked at the famous female villain.

Violet Sank Krakton.

"Brother, thank you for making some shelters. Oh, there's the crown prince here. His Highness ...."

Lucius Oswi Dvorkha stepped up to stand in line with Violet, earning Chico a quick glance. The older brother quirked a grin as he began to bow in respect.

"Greetings to the royal successor of Dvorkha, Your Majesty."

"Thank you for helping us Chico Samprin Krakton, how are things around?" instead of asking anything else, Lucius went straight to the main point.

Not wanting to eavesdrop on the conversation Violet chose to escort the others to enter. One of them asked if this shelter was for nobles and Chico said yes. So, non-nobles were forced to stay out.

Well, it wasn't bad that there were ten people left.

"Vio, we will escort these ten people to another shelter. The Crown Prince will guard this place, he said that monsters are weak to water and fire. Is it true?" asked Chico to confirm.

By now everyone had gone inside. Including the crown prince, the discussion with Chico was also over. It didn't take too long probably because they were in a hurry. The other ten people were trembling in fear of seeing the zombies.

It couldn't be helped that the zombies were already there.

"Yes, that's not all. There's a lot of information I conveyed, just tell it as you go."

"Agreed!"

Unlike before, the one who used his mana to exterminate the surrounding zombies was Chico. Violet only muttered and occasionally looked at the ten people behind. Still following or not.

"They used to be human, but probably because something like a parasite entered the corpse. So, it bites living humans. You know parasites, right? Those things don't like water." Violet remembered a movie about zombies whose cause was a parasite.

Seeing the match between the movie and now made Violet conclude that, although it was still too early. There was no harm in adding another possibility.

"I know, those little creatures always target corpses in order to survive, but there was a study done once. If I'm not mistaken, when they tried to insert the parasite into the corpse, the result was nothing. Nil. It's been several years since the corpse has moved. Maybe the cause is something else."

If not parasites then what?

"Brother, their skin is hard. Not like stone, just not too soft like fingernail skin. It uses all human senses, nose, eyes, and ears. Look at this," Violet said, pointing a finger.

The surroundings went completely dark, but the people there could still see clearly. The zombies' movements were irregular. Not as crazy as before.

"I dulled all their senses. That's the weakness that has been found until now. The rest is probably water and fire.

Oh, yes, to dull smell you should use air, sight there is earth, and hearing can be the sound of lightning. Spirits or witches can use it."

They stopped in front of the door. Having arrived, ten people immediately rushed inside. Fear was obvious in the pair of Krakton brothers and sisters.

Chico rubbed the top of his sister's head gently. A sincere smile was released. "Hearing you like this, it looks like you've grown. Observing the monster that has no idea what the name and cause is. My sister is so beautiful and smart!"

Violet smiled too. It felt inappropriate to be happy when others were struggling with the zombies, but this was the first time Violet had been able to be herself and be praised. Before, she had always been praised, no matter how bad she was. However, it didn't come from her own desire.

The plot of the novel restricts her from doing anything. She alone made a fortress against this world.

"I have a suitable name for this monster, how about a zombie? There's nothing anywhere about zombies. So, from now on shouldn't we create a new history of monsters for future generations?"
