Dr. Vex outlined her strategy.
"Lena's powers are tied to her emotions," she explained. "We must create an emotional resonance to disrupt her connection to the Aurora machine."
Emily's eyes narrowed.
"How do we do that?" she asked.
Dr. Vex hesitated.
"We need someone Lena trusts to reach out to her," she said. "Someone who can make her question her actions."
Nova stepped forward.
"I'll do it," she said.
Dr. Vex nodded.
"Nova, you're the only one who can get close to Lena without triggering her defenses."
Meanwhile, Alex confronted Roman.
"Roman, what's your connection to Dr. Vex?" Alex asked.
Roman's expression turned grave.
"I was Dr. Vex's research partner," he revealed. "We worked on Aurora together, until I realized Adriana's true intentions."
Alex's eyes widened.
"Why didn't you tell me?" he asked.
Roman's voice dropped.
"I was sworn to secrecy, Alex. But I've been working to stop Eclipse from the shadows."
Alex's trust in Roman deepened.
"Thank you, Roman," he said.
Roman nodded.
"Let's stop Eclipse together."
Nova approached Lena, her heart pounding.
"Lena, stop this," Nova said. "You're hurting innocent people."
Lena's laughter echoed.
"You don't understand, Nova," she said. "I'm changing the world."
Nova's voice softened.
"I understand you, Lena. You're scared and alone."
Lena's expression faltered.
"No one understands me," she whispered.
Nova took Lena's hand.
"I do," she said. "Let me help you."
Lena's eyes searched Nova's.
"Why should I trust you?" she asked.
Nova's smile was gentle.
"Because I care about you, Lena."
Lena's grip on Nova's hand tightened.
"Prove it," she said.

Inside, Emma and Alex waited, Baby Ethan in Emma's arms.
Lena's gaze fell upon the child.
"Who is this?" she asked.
Emma's smile softened.
"This is Ethan, Alex's son," she said. "He has powers like yours."
Lena's curiosity piqued.
"Show me," she said.
Ethan's eyes sparkled.
The toddler raised his tiny hands, and a miniature energy shield materialized.
Lena gasped.
"This is impossible," she whispered.
Nova stepped forward.
"Ethan's powers are a gift," she said. "Not a curse."
Lena's expression wavered.
"I was told my powers were the key to changing the world," she said.
Alex spoke up.
"That's a lie, Lena," he said. "Your powers can heal, protect, and inspire."
Lena's eyes searched Nova's.
"Why should I trust you?" she asked again.
Nova's voice filled with conviction.
"Because we care about you, Lena," she said. "And we want to help you find your true purpose."
Lena's grip on Nova's hand tightened.
"I'll listen," she said.
